Cry For Me,

By Winterwing3000

Thunder roared and lightning lit the dark cloudy sky but rain did not fall. The waves past the cliffs crashed and the trees groaned in the woods.

"It hurts! It hurts!"

Blood was thick in the air, past the point of revulsion. Painful screams pierced through the sounds of thunder and waves in intervals, coming closer and closer as minutes passed.

"I know, I know, child. Breathe. Deeply."

Breathing became hard. Talon fashioned hands sought purchase on the wooden railing of the balcony in a white-knuckled grip. Sparks of youki flew as streaks of lighting reflected against the long silvery mane.

"I can't! It hurts! Please, please!"

The rail squeaked from the increased pressure applied. Evil red seeped into the whites of golden eyes as another heaving screech reverberated from behind closed shouji doors. Smooth and long light purple stripes grew jagged just as harsh tearful cries clawed at the eardrums within the pointed and sensitive ears.

"You can do it. It'll be over soon."

The wooden floor beneath clothed feet cracked as the demonic aura thrashed about. Deep rumbles shook the skies again as winds flew restlessly toward the seas. Pits and pats started falling down to the dry ground. Grunts of desperateness and distress rattled the once sleeping monster, tempting it with fresh blood and shrieks.

"Something is wrong! It hurts too much!"

With a final growl, the wood gave and splintered. Rain drops dotted the pristine white robes that swished violently. An anguished scream crescendoed and broke down all restraints.

"Sesshomaru-sama!"

A tiny demon jumped back with fright. Measured but hurried steps bounded to the door which sealed the cries within.

"Sesshomaru-sama! You can't go in there!" A squawk reminded but fell to deaf ears. All senses zoned in on that one person inside. The beast flexed its claws deep down and flailed wildly to be let out. Another cry reached his ears.

"SESSHOMARU-SAMA!"

The frail door did not withstand the force as it was thrown aside, almost sliding out of its tracks. It took a second before the smell of blood clouded his nose completely. All there was to see was red. Cream colored bedding almost black with blood. White pieces of cloth bloomed with red. Grainy tatami flooring soaked into brown. The rain showered the balcony.

"No, stop, Sesshomaru-sama!" The squawk persisted but went silent immediately after.

The first breath of a new soul wailed into the air, muddled by the rain that fell in earnest, slaughtering the thirsting lands.

Old brown eyes watched. Exhausted doe eyes fluttered.

Claws stained with unseen blood plucked the squirming bundle, still slick with fluids both red and white. Cupped in large hands, it quieted momentarily before struggling blindly once more with loud and innocent cries to the world.

Four strides brought them to the outside. Arms rose in offering to the sky above.

"You are my heir. My son."

Thunder clapped and lightning flashed.

"Kiyorimaru."

Kiyorimaru (距離)– roughly translates to 'circular distance' in Chinese. I'm assuming it has a similar meaning in Japanese…

AN: Short and intense to write but I was randomly inspired for this one. Please read and review.
