America strummed the guitar strings merrily as he looked at his twin sons lying peacefully in their cribs. He gazed at his Russian lover in an adoring fashion as he plucked the strings. Softly, he began to sing.
"You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are gray.
You'll never know dear how much I love you,
So please don't take my sunshine away."
He paused a moment trying to remember the rest of the lyrics. Russia smiled as the American boy put on the dopiest thinking face. His strumming stopped for a brief moment as he thought, but Ivan quickly picked up where he left off.
"The other night dear as I lay sleeping..."
"Oh, yeah!" Alfred said a bit too loudly, but only loud enough to make the youngest stir a tad in his sleep. He blushed slightly and the continued strumming. They continued together;
"I dreamed I held you in my arms
When I awoke dear,
I was mistaken
Please don't take my sunshine away."
The Russian looked to the American as he set the guitar down. When Alfred caught him staring, he blushed.
"Where did you learn that one?" Ivan asked.
"My dad sung it to me when I was a kid...What about you, dear? I didn't even know you knew it!"
"My sister." Alfred nodded in understanding.
"Well we should let these two get their rest."
"Da, we shall get rest too." The brunette's face flushed at his lover's implications of "rest."
