There weren't many days that they could meet each other, seeing as they went to separate schools and had different practice schedules, but when they could, they always made the best of it. Just like this one moment. Marui sat by the riverside, arm wrapped around the smaller blonde's shoulders, holding him to his side. For once, Jirou wasn't sleeping, which worked out just fine for the redhead.
"Ne, ne, Marui-kun," the usually sleepy player started, nuzzling into the shoulder against him. "Do you like me?" It was a simple, innocent question, one laced with eternal trust and devotion. The bright eyes were glowering in the light, though the Rikkai Dai regular could not see. For some reason, he didn't want to see. Innocence and sweets were his weakness, after all.
The self-proclaimed 'tensai' didn't know what to say or do. Jirou had never asked him such a question; they never admitted their feelings aloud, never really expressed them in many ways. . .but he couldn't just run away. So he answering in the only way he could possibly think of. He tugged on the Hyoutei player's uniform, lifted him slightly and into his lap before he pressed a chaste kiss to the smaller boy's lips. That was the only way he could tell him. Hopefully the blonde would understand full-well what he meant.
