A/N: My first foray into The Mentalist fandom. Here's hoping it's not the last!
She took the frog home. There was logic, even in this small action; with Teresa Lisbon, there always was. In the case of the frog, her motivation was simple – childish, even. (A sort of personality failing, she supposed, this overwhelming need to know how things worked: cases, machines, people...) The paper frog had hopped, all on its own, and she wanted to know how. Or at least ascertain why such a fragile piece of paper had leapt so high. Why, like everything else he touched, it seemed to come alive, animated by some kind of dark magic.
