Wrote this a little while back! Hope you enjoy! -SA
George looked at the ring in his hand. It had been five years since he'd asked her to go to Hogsmead. He'd tripped and fell on his face when he'd asked, but she still said yes. Now, they were both nineteen, and he felt it was time to ask. First, he went to Fred.
"Fred? You there?" he asked.
"Yep. What's up?" his brother relied.
"What do you think of Haze?"
"I like her, she's awesome. Plus, she's a good chaser," Fred mused.
"Well, um, I wanted to, uh, ask her to, uh-hem, ask her to marry me," he muttered.
Fred bolted up-right, "WHAT?!"
George only nodded. Fred broke into a grin, "That's fantastic! Go now!"
George grinned and disaperated.
"Haze, you there?" he called out. She had moved in a year ago.
"I'm here," she called, "What do you need, love?"
He took her hand, and got down on one knee, "Hazen Leannie Lights, will you do me the honor of marrying me? I love you more than anything, Haze, please."
She covered her mouth with her hand, tears in her eyes, "I love you, too, George. Yes, I will marry you." She got down on her knees, too, and kissed him. Fred ran into the room, "Oh, sorry, my bad."
George rolled his eyes. Haze smiled, "Its fine. What's up?"
"The Order messaged. Harry is back. We're going to war."
Haze gasped; George pulled her close, "I'll be right back, love."
She pushed him back, "No. I'm coming, too. I can fight."
George knew better than to argue, "Let's get going then."
They all aperated to Hogwarts. In the midst of the battle he heard someone cry out "FRED!" and a large crash. He ran over and saw Fred. He was sitting amongst the rubble of a collapsed wall, holding a girl with long black hair and iced blue eyes.
"HAZE!" he yelled, running.
She coughed, "Hello, love. We might have to cancel the wedding."
"NO!" he cried, tears running down his face, "Don't leave me. Don't you dare leave me, Haze! Please!"
She smiled, "I love you, so much. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I- I love you."
He leaned down and kissed her, "Please. Don't Haze. Don't leave me."
She smiled, "I love you."
She looked off into the distance and went still. "NO!" George cried, "NO! PLEASE!"
Fred held his brother as he cried, "It's all my fault."
"No, no it isn't," George sobbed, "How could it be?"
"She- she shoved me out of the way. I would've died, but she saved me. She saved me."
George sobbed, but he didn't blame his brother. He knew she went the way she wanted to go. In battle, fighting for the good.
The funeral was held the next month. They dressed her in white, like a wedding. George wore a suit and tie.
"Will George please say a few words?"
George nodded. "Haze was going to marry me. I wish we could have had that happily ever after. But, it's just not the way it was going to happen."
He blinked just then, and turned over.
"You ok? You looked like you were having a nightmare," Haze smiled over at him.
"I was. You died. We- we were engaged."
She laughed, "You asked me yesterday, silly. Besides, the Order just messaged. I didn't want to wake you, but we're going to war. At Hogwarts."
"NO!" he cried, "Stay."
She looked at him, "No."
They went, but his dream was half right. The next month, they laid Fred into the ground.
