I Taught Him That

A/N-I got this idea after reading the part in HP+GoF. The one where Dumbledore smiles after hearing that Voldie has come back.

Disclaimer- I don't own Harry Potter. And if you thought I did I wonder what you're doing at this site and on planet earth.

I once had a boy named Tom Marvolo Riddle. He was a young ambitious Slytherin orphaned years ago.

He reminded me of myself in a way. I was also abandoned by my father and my mother died shortly after my brother was born. But I luckily had a kind aunt who was willing to take us in.

I was just graduated from Hogwarts when I became a teacher. That's when I met Tom. I remember when I taught my first lesson. I taught Potions to Slytherin and Ravenclaw 1st years. I was terrified that someone would melt a cauldron. I had talked to my old teacher and he was slightly paranoid and I remember him calling me cretin when I visited him at St. Mungo's for the job description. I don't know why I took him seriously especially after that time in my 7th year when he had some how gotten his tongue stuck to a cauldron what his tongue was doing on a cauldron I still have no idea...

Oh right, back to Tom. I had decided to teach a more history like lesson. The whole first term went by before they even saw a cauldron. In the first lesson we had learned about the very potion that made him go back to power. I spent weeks teaching it to him. Tom was extremely bright but for the only time in his school career he didn't understand. I had to go into specific details on the potion before he understood it. I learned a lot about him then while teaching him. The thing I will never understand is how he could hate something he is for he was a half-blood. He reminded me of a muggle that killed many people but Muggle Studies was never a favorite of mine so I do not remember his name at the moment. But, our talk must end now Professor Snape is waiting outside.
