Alex glared at her computer screen, becoming quite agitated that she couldn't find anything on their Jane Doe down in the medical bay. And on top of that, today is the anniversary of her parents death. She ran a hand through her hair, trying to keep calm. For some reason, she just felt mad as hell and she couldn't figure out why. And that was just getting her even madder. If this keeps up, she might have to leave before she snapped.
Luckily, Tosh and Gwen were out investigating something, so they weren't there to bother her and ask what was bothering her. They just knew how to get on someone's nerves.
She put her head in her hands.
"Everything ok?"
Alex looked up and saw Owen looking at her.
"Yeah. Just not having much luck finding anything, though it doesn't help when I don't know who she is."
He gave her a hard look.
"You know its hard to get a good tissue sample when the corpse is burned."
"Have you tried identifying them by their dental record?" Jack came out of his office.
"Again, burnt corpse; not much left to work with." Owen looked at Jack.
"Just trying to help."
"Alex would be more help, that is if she actually helped me."
"Why aren't you helping Owen?" Ianto came over, holding a tray that had her cup of coffee on it as he already gave Jack and Owen theirs.
"Yeah, you should be helping him instead of doing nothing." Jack sipped his coffee.
Alex slapped the tray out of Ianto's hand, sending it and her cup to the ground, breaking the cup and spilling the coffee. She stood and glared at Jack.
"I am doing something!" she yelled. "I've been busy trying not to flip out all day long! I'm mad as hell and I have no f***ing idea why! And I don't have time to sit here and go round and round, trying to find information on a person that has no identification!"
All three men stared at her.
"I'm through with doubt! There is nothing left for me to figure out so why bother?!"
"Alex…" Ianto looked at her. "This wouldn't have anything to do with today being the anniversary of your parents death now would it?"
She was silent for a while.
"…maybe….they say time heals everything, but I'm still waiting….."
"It's over with, so don't you think it's time to put that behind you and move on?" Ianto moved towards her.
"I'm not ready to make nice and I'm not ready to back down and I just can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should." She said solemnly.
"The only to move on it forgive, then forget." Owen looked at her.
"Forget?! How could I possible forget something like that?!" She stormed out of the Hub.
Jack came over and slapped the back of Owen's head.
"Nice going."
"Ianto, you almost ready ready?" Owen came into the kitchen.
Ianto, who was cleaning the counters, turned and glared at Owen.
"Come on. You're still mad at me for earlier?"
"You know she's not going to want to talk to you for a while."
"Yeah, but that is the only way to move on."
"Forgive…..sounds good."
Ianto and Owen turn to see Alex leaning against the door frame.
"What?" Owen looked at her.
"Forget…I don't think I can."
They realized what she was talking about.
"They say time heals everything, but I'm still waiting."
"And until it does, we're here to support you." Ianto came over to her and hugged her.
"Yeah." Owen did the same thing.
Alex hugged them back.
"Thank you."
