Heh. Um, okay. I've only read the first three Vampire Knight mangas, nothing else, so I'm sure I made some mistakes here. My friend requested a winter-themed Kaname/Yuuki oneshot, so I wrote one. I like how it turned out, so I'm posting it. Once again, sorry for any gaping plot errors. Also, it's somewhat based on the song by Evanescence-I think you know which one.
I.
The world had been black and white and empty when he found her. Fitting, Kaname thought, because he and her were the only two in the world that mattered. Blood-vampire and human-splashed across the snow was as beautiful as her burgundy eyes, so like his. Her snowy skin.
He was an aristocratic sort of fiend, noble and all that, but there was only one thought in his brain at that moment:
Mine.
And there had been that irresistible blackness of a thought, to finish the work of the last beast and take her blood as his right now.
But he didn't.
It didn't matter.
From that moment, she was his.
His Snow-White Queen.
II.
Those purple nights when snowflakes fell on the black-lace backdrop of trees. She spun amongst them, laughing, thin white nightgown slipping around slender shoulders. She danced to the melody of tinkling icicles, as clear and sad as broken bells.
Kaname watched, an indulgent Nii-san, an ice king on a throne of glacial air, as she caught frozen crystals melting on her warm, pink tongue.
He wondered then if her warmth wouldn't melt him as well.
And there was always that pest of an instinct, the need to possess. The demand to hold that warm, waifish body against him and spill its blood across the snow.
The blood that belonged to him as much as it did her.
But he wouldn't
When she jumped into his arms and dropped butterfly kisses against his cheeks and nose, he would chuckle and carry her back to her room. She would knot her frost bitten fingers with his, and he would press his lips to her forehead.
He would hold her tightly to his chest so that he could hear her heart beating. He would smile because she was his.
His Dear Girl.
His Snow-White Queen.
III.
And her body, still so small after years passed, fit so perfectly against his.
He could hear her heart beat-rush-now, could hear her blood whisper to him as her silk lips parted against his own, and her voice and soul moaned,
"Kaname-sama."
And there was her skin, white and soft as snow against his, and her neck, long and arched as a swan's, and her eyes closed so that snowflakes piled on long, dark lashes.
His beautiful Yuuki, his Dear Girl, his Snow-White Queen.
She belonged to him.
And he to her.
To clear up any confusion, segment one is when Kaname found Yuuki in the snow, two is when she's a little kid, and three is when she's a teenager or older.
