The Walking Dead: This World Isn't For Kids Anymore Prologue

Clementine whimpered as she got to her feet. She looked up at Lee,He had his eyes closed. His skin was ghostly white. Clementine grabbed the gun with shaky hands.

"I-its okay can do it." Lee softly encouraged her.

She closed her eyes tightly. She let out a sob as she raised the gun, aiming it towards man who had protected her. The man who has become like a Father to her.

Clementine's tears wouldn't stop raining down her little cheeks."I-I can't!" She cried as she dropped the gun.

"Y...You have to sweet pea.I-I can feel myself slipping." Lee spoke hoarsly.

"Lee please! I can't shoot you!" She exclaimed. She tried to wipe her tears away but more kept coming.

"Clem..listen to me." He pleaded.

She choked back her tears as she kneeled in front of him."What is it?" She asked, her voice squeaking.

Lee opened his eyes. Which were now blood shot red. Her eyes widened, She knew he would be gone soon.

"Clem...you may not be my daughter." He coughed."But I loved you like one."

"M-Me too Lee." She sobbed."I..loved you like a Father."

"Y-you need to do it now Clem." Lee rasped, his breathing getting slower."Don't let me turn into them."

"I...okay." Clementine replied as she picked up the gun. She got to her feet, aiming it at Lee once more.

She let out a sob as she put her finger on the trigger. She raised it to his head."I'm sorry Lee."

Lee just gave her a quick painful smile. She closed her eyes as she turned her head away.

"G-Goodbye!" She sobbed as she pulled the trigger.

BANG!

"Ahh...uh"

Clementine slowly opened her eyes to see Lee slump to the floor. His arms fell limply beside him. His once brown eyes were lifeless.

She let out a cry as she ran towards him. The gun fell to the floor forgotten. She gently reached up and closed his eyes.

Her eyes refused to look at where the bullet struck. The nine year old girl layed on his shoulder. Just like she used to do.

"I'm so sorry Lee." She sobbed."I-It was my fault you got bit. If only I hadn't listened to that monster. You would still be here."

"I promise..I will do a better job at being careful." Clementine vowed to him."I swear it."

She then looked down sadly at Lee's body."I'm suprised you didn't ha-hate me."

"I-I just wanted to find my parents." She said tearfully."But I ended up losing them anyway.T-then I lost you too."

Her lips trembled as she gently patted his head."I'm so scared."

Clementine wished that Lee would reply. She wished he was there to tell her that everything was gonna be alright. But she knew it wasn't. This world was so messed up. She knew now it was time for her to grow up.

No more kiddy stuff. Clementine had to learn to be brave and strong. That is what Lee wanted for her.

And Clementine was sure going to try to make it up to him. She has to,because now...in this world. There is no place for a child.

A/N

My first walking dead story! I probably should have started this long before S2 was I only now just thought of it.I'm so glad we finally get to play as Clementine. To see the cruel world of TWD through a child's eyes will be exciting.

So anyway, this story will focus solely on Clementine. Her struggle to survive and become strong like Lee wanted for her.I'm excited for this story and I hope you Readers out there will be too.

Oh and this was only the opening for the story,so that's why it's short. The next chapter will take place after Clementine gets out into the field thingy and she spots the two mystery figures.

Please read and review!
