Prologue
A Spark of Hope

Loki paced back and forth in his cell, gritting his teeth in anger. Only Thor had the power to release him, but that wasn't going to happen...obviously. he was treated better then the other prisoners, due to Frigga, but he would much rather be ruling over Midgard now. Loki grunted, sitting down on his bed. He had been in here for a few months, but had come up with no plans to escape. In order to escape, he would have to create a situation so bad that the Asgardians were forced to let him out. Unfortunately, he had no way of doing that.

"I hate them," he muttered angrily. He lay down on his bed and began to toss a cup up into the air. Toss, catch. Toss, catch. It reminded him of a game that he and his used-to-be-lover had played when they were children. Loki's mind instantly whirled into overdrive. Sanger, Midgard, Avengers, necklace...Loki sat up and removed something from his neck. It was a small diamond-shaped diamond with silver lining on a gold chain. Loki whispered a spell and the necklace glowed green briefly. After a few seconds, during which Loki got quite anxious, a voice emanated from the small gem.

"Loki?!"

"Sanger, thank Odin I reached you. I need your help."

"What is it?"

"The Avengers. I need you to..."
