An explosive device had just been detonated by the bomb squad led by Chief Rick Dysart of the Fire Department on the cold November morning.
The bomb exploded with a slight "POP" in the huge secure container, as Sara Sidle-Grissom stood stoically watching the scene unfold. Rick smiled in her direction as the last of the pipe bombs was loaded into the explosion container.
"I don't know why people make these things." Rick said quietly.
"I don't know either. My victim never stood a chance, did he?" Sara asked sadly.
Dysart's response was lost over the sound the last "POP".
