First Flying Lesson
They were excited as First Years usually were at the sight of the sign on the notice board that announced the upcoming Flying Lessons.
The stories of mishaps during previous attempts of flying made their way through the entire Gryffindor Common Room as the students boisterously told stories to their friends.
"Do you remember that trick Viktor Krum managed to do during the World Cup? I wish I could fly like him-"
"-I did it, really! My mum even got the picture to prove it!"
"I want to be able to fly like Harry Potter did against that dragon last year!"
Harry winced slightly at the last one but could remember his own eagerness about flying for the first time. His year had not been so bad as the Quidditch World Cup had not been hosted by Britain the year previous.
"My mother banned me from flying when I fell off my toy broomstick when I was six," one boy muttered.
Harry found himself smiling, that boy reminded him of Neville.
"She told me that I was a complete klutz on land and that there was no way I will be leaving the ground until Hogwarts," the boy continued.
Harry looked over to Neville and saw that the other boy's ears had turned a pinkish colour from his embarrassment as most of the other Gryffindors from their year had turned towards him as well.
"Gran had told me something similar when I was younger," Neville mumbled quietly.
They all knew that much. They would have said similar things to him even knowing him for only four years.
