A/N: THIS IS DEPRESSING. I was crying while I wrote this. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
Forgive any mistakes and prepare to bawl!

Oh, the irony of that situation.
Jason had faced monsters and nightmares for practically his whole life. He had just finished his biggest battle yet; the battle with Gaea. They were sailing back to Camp Half-blood when some furies attacked.
After all he had survived, he was laying on the deck, dying of the poison from the furies' claws that had scratched him; just two minor scrapes on his arm, yet his insides were burning up with every breath he took.
It wouldn't be long before he stopped breathing altogether.
The room was spinning before his eyes; it was blurry as well. He was holding onto the real world; if he gave into oblivion, there would be a slim chance of him waking up again.
War against the furies raged all around them, dozens of them were attacking at once, but Jason's friends were fighting well. Jason knew they would win.
They would do okay without him.
Suddenly he could see the splotchy figure of someone next to his semi-conscious body. "Jason!" She screamed, and Jason recognized the voice, which belonged to Piper.
"Piper," Jason croaked out. It was a simple word he had said so many times, but now it seemed to take the wind out of him, and Jason had to struggle even more to breathe.
"No, no, Jason, save you strength," Piper said. "You-you can't die. Okay?"
Jason could hear charmspeak in her voice, but this was the one time it didn't affect Jason. His brain couldn't focus on anything anymore, and Jason knew he didn't have much longer on earth.
"Piper," Jason tried again. He was going to stop breathing soon, so Jason thought he might as well use the last of his breath on this. "Stay strong, Piper, I love you."
"No," Piper said, her voice choked with sobs. "No, no, no, Jason. Don't go. I need you!" She grasped his limp hand. "Please, Jason, please."
Jason smiled at Piper, and Piper leaned in and kissed Jason full on the lips.
When she pulled back, Jason was gone, but the smile was still on his pale face.
"NO!" Piper screamed, starting to bawl.
Leo ran up to her side and hugged Piper, whispering encouraging words even though his own voice was choked with sobs. "Piper...Jason's right, you need to stay strong, okay? Stay strong," Leo paused to take a shaky breath. "For Jason."
Piper looked at Leo, her kaleidoscopic eyes full of unshed tears. "Leo," she said, bawling into his shirt.
After a few minutes of sobs and tears, Leo crouched down beside Jason's limp body. "I'm so sorry, man, so sorry," he choked out, and Piper sobbed more.
Looking over the two, Jason was satisfied. Jason knew that Leo would take care of Piper, and Jason also knew Piper would stay strong. For him.
Jason turned around, looking into the brilliant light, and stepped in, but not before blowing Piper a kiss.
A/N: I probably made you cry...sorry...
