It's 6:00am and an alarm is going off. Naruto reaches out from under his covers and slaps at it to turn it off. 'Just 10 more minutes please' he thinks to himself. He doesn't say anything out loud because there is no one there to hear him. He has been on his own for as long as he can remember. No one cared about him enough to make sure he got up early enough to eat breakfast before the academy. No one cared enough to make sure he did his homework. No one cared enough to help him with anything. He was for the most part completely alone. He did think that Iruka – sensei might be disappointed in him if he was late again and he didn't want to let down the one person who actually took any interest in him at all. So he got out of bed, got dressed and ran for school. Of course he was late, had forgotten the homework that he had tried to finish and wasn't able to master the clone jutsu no matter how much he tried to practice it on his own. This made his day miserable as all the other kids would tease and torment him for these things. When lunch came he realized he had forgotten to bring one and so sat all alone on the swings while the other kids traded lunches and laughed and played. 'Why me? What did I ever do to anyone?' Naruto just didn't get it. He always tried his best, to be a friend to anyone, to be cheerful. It never made a difference. At the end of the day he was always alone. He ate dinner alone, did his homework alone, cleaned up after himself and put himself to bed. 'Well tomorrow is another day, maybe it will be better than today' he thought as he drifted off to sleep.

"NARUTO" Sarina yells,"GET OUT OF BED. COME ON ALREADY, mom and dad have breakfast done and dad says he wants to see your new jutsu."
'oh yeah, I forgot dad is teaching me his rasengan technique.' Naruto reminds himself.
"NARUTO" his sister yells "MOVE IT. Sakura and Sasuke are here already to pick you up for class."
"I'll be right down" naruto replies as he brushes his teeth.
"It's about time, what took so long?" Minato asks his number one son.
"Nothing dad, I was just having a weird dream, that's all."
"Really? Dobe. You missed a chance to train because of a dream?"
"Sasuke leave naruto alone. I want to hear if he was dreaming about Hinata, and that's why he stayed in bed."
"No Sakura it wasn't like that. I was all alone. Completely and utterly alone."
"Honey that must have been awful, here eat your breakfast and don't forget your lunch. I packed extra HO-HOs so you can trade them like you asked."
"Thanks mom you're the best. And yeah it was kind of awful. But it was only a dream, right?"
