Short One-
Karon was having a good day, heck he was having a pretty great week! His mood was flying high, the plumbob hadn't been doing anything to out of the ordinary, no fights with Shelly. He felt a smile tilt his lips as he entered the Kitchen of the Small flat he shared with his partner and fellow scientist, Shelly. He huffed a small laugh as he brewed a fresh pot of coffee. He remembers meeting Shelly as a small, Strange girl with hair the color of crisp oranges. They had been total opposites, he thinks as he sits at the counter with his caffeinated drink. She was perky and a daydreamer, and he was grumpy and a class-a nerd. THey would have never foreseen such and overpowering love for botany of all things. He grinned broadly at the memories of those University days.
Karon turns away from the counter after having polished off his cup. He starts towards the office with full intention of completing the Program he'd been designing for over a week now. He glances at the calendar in the hall outside his office. He smiled as he sees Love Day is coming up soon. He thinks the festival is in town, Shelly loves those. He's in the midst of finishing his hard work when-
BAM!
Shelly comes careening through the door, her orange curls flying about her face, She gasps wide eyed for a moment before she blubbers something beyond understanding. Karon raises his hand, hands palm out as a sign to stop. Shelly looks to panic a moment before shoving her apparently dirt caked hands out, she carries a green and brown plant, it's leafy stem is crisp, the bulbous head is followed with a pod like ending. Karon doesn't recognize it.
"Sul-Sul, Shelly. What is this?" Karon questions. Shelly looks at the plant, then at Karon, her wide blue eyes are full of question. She waves it a little. She gulps," It's a baby."
What?
THe moment pauses when as she says, the small podling wiggles out not only legs and arms, all punctuated by tiny hands and feet, but a small face pops from the head of leafy...hair and releases a whine like sob.
