Prologue

It had been a year now since Elsa and Anna had saved each other from their terrible fates. They were happy with what had been accomplished, after years of hiding away from the people now acknowledged Elsa's powers and loved her for it. Love was the key to everything. Elsa's love for her sister had showed her this. Their parents would have been proud and she knew they were smiling down at Anna and herself.

She had been lost looking through the window at the kingdom when a gentle knock on the door broke the silence. She knew exactly who it was.

'Come in, Anna.'

Anna bounded in. 'Elsa!' She hugged her sister. 'Kristoff and I are engaged. He asked me and I said yes. I hope you will give your blessing.'

'Of course.' Elsa smiled. 'Its not like you've only just met him.' The two girls laughed sharing the memory of Elsa's coronation.

She had become the great queen her father had wished of her. She was loving and kind and looked after her people; they all adored her. As well as Anna, she had become a great friend to everyone and was always willing to help.

'Thank you, Elsa, for everything.'

'I should be the one thanking you. It because of you that the kingdom has turned out this way. If it hadn't been for you, the kingdom would be in the hands of Hans right now and who knows what that would be like.'

Anna hugged her tightly, smiled and left the room, leaving Elsa to her solitude. She had grown accustom to being alone after the many years she had spent doing so. She loved being with the people and her sister but sometimes it was pleasant to just be in peace to think looking over the beautiful landscape before her.

She sat by the window looking out again, just as something caught her eye. 'What was that?' She opened the doors on to the balcony and looked out to where she thought she had seen a puff of golden smoke. It was a strange substance, she had never seen it before. A golden haze started shining through the mountains. She grabbed her cape and ran down to the horses, taking one down the familiar path she had led before.

The last time she had come this way she had been running away from something she didn't know how to control but now she was running towards something she didn't know. The site before her changed the bravery she had felt to come here for the shock would not end easily.
