Disclaimer: Surprise! I don't own Alice in Wonderland. If I did, Tarrant and Alice would have been together and there would have been a sequel!
Warning: Fluff! If you don't like fluff do yourself a favor and don't read this!
The sun was warm and the shade was cool in Underland. The March Hare had run ahead with Mally and left Tarrant and Alice to walk alone through the warm woods. Closing her eyes and letting Tarrant's hand in hers lead her she enjoyed the sunlight.
"Do you trust me?" Tarrant asked. She opened her eyes in surprise.
"You know I do." She said. He gripped her hand tighter and set off in a sprint down the trail. They jumped over logs, dodged branches and laughed insanely as they sprinted through the woods. Where they would have made a right to follow Thackery and Mally they took a left.
Alice trusted that Tarrant knew what he was doing and followed him without comment. His grip suddenly felt like iron and she didn't see the edge of the cliff until it was too late and they both went hurtling over the edge.
It was only a ten foot drop into a deep pool of water created by a waterfall but Alice screamed the whole way down. When they surfaced Hatter threw his floating hat to the beach and swam around Alice in circles. It wasn't until she got over the shock of the plummet that she realized that Mally and Thackery were sitting on the shore laughing hysterically.
She glared and splashed them, then Tarrant. Thackery and Mally jumped in and Tarrant and Thackery splashed Alice back while Mally egged them on.
"Tarrant Hightopp, never ever do that again!" Alice cried.
"Of course not! It wouldn't be nearly as fun the second time, you would know what was coming!" she splashed him once more for good measure and went ashore to lay in the sun to dry off. Tarrant plopped himself down next to her and brushed out her hair with his fingers.
"Do you want to jump off again?" Alice asked. Tarrant grabbed her hand and pulled her up. They ran hand in hand back up the trail.
"She's crazy." Thackery said. "Rock!"
