The beginnings of love:
I held her as she cried herself out, I knew then that I loved her, but I didn't know what she was looking for, or if she'd she let me hold her forever. I knew then after that moment in the hayloft when she was so vulnerable that I'd always be there for her, I'd would always want to be there, uncaring of what my nobles though. If I couldn't love her, would she go to D'yer? Would she turn to someone else when I would offer her the world? I wish she wouldn't run from my embrace, I'll never let her go. Everything I have is hers.
Years later
Karigan has been carried back to the palace, very weak, and unresponsive to all methods of communications, she is trapped in the white world waiting for her reason to come back, to keep on living. She had ended the war with Mornhaven but had collapsed from the efforts and blood loss of their fierce fight… and she needed an anchor something to come home to, to tell her she was still needed….
Unbeknownst to Karigan, the King sat by her side never leaving, only hoping that she would come back and still be his Karigan, the woman he loved, the woman he hoped to marry one day, for 5 days he stayed by her side till he could bear it no more, and he uttered the words that he had always wanted to say…
"Karigan I love you, more than words, more than life, and I can't tell you how much, just when you wake up know that I will always be here holding you whenever you need me, whenever I can, I don't care about the others, the speculations, the rumors, oh my Kari, how I need you, how I love you."
Karigan heard the words and thought of his almond eyes pleading, the depth of the love in them frighteningly strong, and Karigan knew she had to come back, she was needed, she couldn't give up, she couldn't leave love… and slowly she walked through the mist and into the light….
As her eyes opened and focused on the brown, her anchor her one hope, " I love you" was finally said.
