Queen Elsa of Arendelle was sick. Very sick. The doctors did not know what was wrong with her, so there were no medications to heal her. Princess Anna was worried. She loved her sister, and she was nervous about becoming Queen after her sister died. She was worried about Olaf, as well.
Queen Elsa has ice powers. These powers made her many enemies, and one friend. Olaf the snowman. After Elsa had frozen the land in eternal winter, and unthawed the land with love, Olaf thought he would melt. Elsa saved him by giving him his own personal snow cloud.
On June 1, the doctors of Arendelle determined that Elsa had only hours to live.
Anna emerged from her sister's bedroom, crying. "She wants to see you, Olaf." Anna then walked to Kristoff, who embraced her in a warm hug.
Olaf entered the dreary room quietly. The curtains were closed, keeping out the sunlight. Elsa, her skin a sick, yellowish color, lay in the bed. Her hair was thinning, and turning gray. Her breathing was shallow, and her eyes opened and closed slowly. Olaf, with his childlike innocence, knew what Elsa was about to tell him. He prepared himself mentally.
"Olaf?" Her voice was weak and wavered. "Olaf, come here."
Olaf went to Elsa's bed, and a whirlwind of thoughts went through his mind. He decided to voice one, "Elsa, thank you for freezing me. For this long." Elsa's face fell at his words. He knew. But she needed to tell him, she needed some closure.
"Olaf, I'm so sorry. I can't freeze you anymore." Elsa's words made Olaf feel like he had been impaled.
"It's okay, Elsa. Some people are worth melting for."
Elsa felt a single tear slip down her cheek. "When you say things like that, you melt my heart."
A drip of water, perhaps a tear, perhaps he was starting to melt, fell on Olaf's carrot nose, and dripped onto the floor.
Anna walked in to a depressing scene. Olaf was now a puddle, Elsa lay still on the bed, and when Anna tried to feel her pulse, there was nothing. Anna walked to Olaf the Puddle and picked up the carrot that used to be his nose. Sobbing, she gripped it to her chest.
"You always did love warm hugs."
My sincerest apologies if this broke your heart. I had to get it out!
