Neonn: Bryke is obviously stupid, and should never be allowed to matchmake. Ever. So I'm rectifying their mistake ;) This is a ONESHOT.

"Found dead by the Fire Lord--"

Katara looked sadly at the almost unrecognizable body of the Avatar. The corpse was lying on a table, being examined by Master waterbenders, to discover the 'cause of death'. She was as capable as the others, but she had been so close to the airbender. He had been one of her best friends, as much as a brother to her as Sokka was.
"Strange, isn't it?" said Sokka, staring. "He's...gone. I mean, I only saw him just two days ago. I can't believe it."
"Yeah," said Zuko quietly. One of the waterbenders came up to them.
"Well?" asked Katara softly, keeping the tremor from her voice.
"Well, there isn't much to tell. The body--it was obviously burned; not a scrap of clothes left, the ashes coating the body...but the strange thing is the severe dehydration. The fire would obviously burn out all moisture, but the severity of it..." she looked disturbed. "It's almost as if he had been drained of all bodily fluids before—or during—the burning."
"What are you suggesting?" asked Zuko quietly. Katara moved close, and he wrapped a comforting arm around her. Sokka looked back and forth between Katara and Zuko, the wheels in his keen mind turning.
"Nothing. Just that the damage looks like something from a firebender--"
"No, it doesn't," said Sokka decisively, realizing the truth.
"Sir?"
"He died of natural causes. That's the...official ruling," said Zuko.
"But sir--"
"You are under my employ," said Zuko sternly.
"Please. Natural causes," whispered Katara as she proved herself to be a master tearbender.
"I...of course. Natural causes," the waterbender went back to the remains and her colleagues, to inform them of the 'official' cause of death.
"After all," said Sokka smartly, keeping his voice quiet so only his sister and friend could hear, "after being attacked by a Master Firebender and Waterbender, naturally you die."

Neonn: Wow. Originally I intended it to be just Zuko, but it looks like it was a double act. XD The first part was supposed to be like, um, everyone talking about it, supposed to simulate a large group of gossipy people or something. I don't know if it worked, but whatever...Tearbending...hah! Had to include it somehow :) And yeah, I guess they're in the Fire Nation or something...?
