Kazuki
January 1
Capricorn – the seagoat
Unlike Ginji, who had to leave for good, and Shido, who chose to stay outside, Kazuki frequently wanders in and out of Mugenjou, spending days, weeks, with Jubei and Sakura and Makubex. Sometimes, it's almost as if the old Volts had returned. Others, it's like the Fuuga is back. But then, as sure as the tide, he leaves. Back to Shinjuku, to his small apartment, to the Honky Tonk and Ginji.
Pan
The first days in Mugenjou had been almost unbearable. Seeing nothing but dirty, ruined buildings, hearing nothing but a cacophony of traffic, radio and television sounds, he clung to Sakura and Juubei, seeking comfort in their familiar scent – the faint aroma of green tea, damp grass, flowers - a reminder of times he used to wake up to the sound of birds singing.
Earth - Chronos
As a kid, Juubei had always admired Kazuki's quiet, almost content attitude while spending long hours in repetitive, harsh and tiresome training. Years later, when Kazuki proposed to teach him some new fighting techniques, Juubei learned how demanding and severe his usually gentle friend could be.
Amalthea - Cornucopia
"You can have this, Ginji-san."
"Really? Thank you, Kazu-chan!"
As Ginji happily devours the sandwich, Kazuki smiles. Why his Raitei had decided to tag along with a man like Ban Midou was beyond him but it was not his place to question Ginji. Kazuki was content to be able to serve him once more, his Lord, the only one person in this world to whom he would kneel before.
Author's notes
In case you are curious about the keywords for each paragraph, Kazuki is a Capricorn. This sign belongs to the element Earth and is represented by a Seagoat, a mythical creature that lives in the ocean but walks on land during the day, spreading culture and knowledge around. Also related to Capricorn is Pan, Greek god protector of shepherds. Pan refused to live with the other gods in Mount Olympus, preferring to stay on earth, close to nature. Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn – known in Greek mythology as Cronus, god of time, discipline and death. Related to Capricorn is also the legend of Amalthea, the goat that suckled the infant Zeus after his mother saved him from being devoured by his father Cronus. Curiously, Zeus was the King of Gods and used to release lightning from his hands when angry – very much like Raitei... Amalthea's broken horn turned into a Cornucopia or "horn of plenty".
