Melvin walked into a training room to meet up with a man whom he knew he had to trust in order to get out of this alive. Melvin Jones was an athletic man of 22 years; however, because of his height issue, people never took him seriously when he told them that he meant business. He was about 5'5. He joined the army to prove that his height did not correspond to his personality. When he finally saw the man, he immediately rushed over to him.

"What's your name son?" The man asked him.

"Jones sir. Melvin Jones," he replied very excitedly.

"Ah…yes here you are. Jones," he said looking into his roll book. "The name's Prior, but obviously for you, it is Captain Prior."

"Yes sir, Captain Prior, sir."

"Alright Jones, here's what I want you to do. You see that long piece of tape over there? I want you to stand by it do that now." Melvin sprinted to the tape, unaware that he was about to be put through a serious test. "Good, you can follow orders. Now, you see that course? Here's what I want you to do, I want you to run through that course as fast as you can without my help on what to do. This works body adjustments and problem-solving skills because at war there will be some things that I haven't taught you how to do. Now on my mark. Get set. GO!!!"

Melvin sprinted as fast as he could to the first station. It was all about footwork in this station. There were tires set up in a football practice format. After he finished with those came the climbing station, where he had to climb over a brick wall. Then came the combat station. Bags were thrown at him in all different directions. His only way out was to fight. He got hit many times; he manipulated the bags, however, to work as a shield for him in other instances. After that came the shooting station. He picked up a pistol that was provided for him and was able to hit 8 out of 10 targets.

That's it for now stay tuned for chapter 2. (soon coming)
