What does tomorrow hold?

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry-1978

Lily Evans was sitting in her dormitory, on the window pane, looking at the stars. She was tired, and trying to figure out what she was going to do after her last year. Lily was a tall, beautiful girl with auburn red hair, almond-shaped green eyes, and a pale skin color. She was in her last year at Hogwarts and was head girl along with James Potter who was head boy. James was in her house at Hogwarts, and was known as a marauder, a prankster. He had three best friends, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. They have been playing pranks since their 2nd year, and that is the time when James started to like her. James was different this year; he was nice, and handsome. No doubt. So Lily was just staring up at the sky, absentmindedly twirling her hair, when she saw something near the lake. It was skipping rocks and even though she couldn't see it, it (whatever it was) was looking grim. She felt curious and sad, so she went to find out what it was.

James was sitting by the lake, throwing rocks and thinking about the Wizarding world. He was alone until he heard light footsteps. He didn't want to move, so he ignored them. They came closer and closer until….

"You know, it's against school rules to be out so late." Said a voice he knew so well

"Then I should write you up a detention, Miss Evans?" said James with a mock tone

Lily let out a little laugh, and James just smiled. Lily sat down next to him and James was happy.

"So why are you out here, Lily? Why aren't you asleep like everyone else?" asked James

"I was sitting on the windowsill, when I saw a sad, grim figure sitting by the lake, and I couldn't sleep" Lily said to James, looking in his eyes.

"I guess I couldn't sleep either. I was just thinking about life, the Wizarding and Muggle worlds. I was also thinking about the job I would have in the future." James said. Lily was taking this in. James apparently did care about the world and he was thinking about the future. Then she asked

"What do you want to do after you get out of school? I mean for life, what do you want to do?"

James thought and answered "I want to be an Auror; I want to have a family, be married, and be happy. I know the Wizarding world is in change, but I wan to live life to the fullest, while I can"

Lily was happy that James wanted to be happy and have a loved one.

She smiled at him and whispered "You will make a lucky girl, a great husband."

Lily got up and started back, and James followed her. Suddenly she shivered; she didn't have a cloak on. James put his cloak on her, and they both smiled sheepishly, and walked back to the castle under the moonlight.

The End
