Ignorance

The light faltered the expression on her face, the peaceful dream she was having faded and her eyes opened to the sense of a new day. How wonderful. She loved the morning, how the dawn sky looked and how everything seemed to be brighter. She never understood why, when they got a chance, Yuki and Kyo liked to stay in bed. The world in the morning was just so much fresher then that in which it became in the afternoon. The sun wasn't burning and the moon wasn't chilling. It was a time between the two, day and night. The blissful time that perhaps only she recognized, she knew that she could not force others to watch it with her. But if she ever did get the chance, she defiantly try and watch the dawn sky with either Kyo or Yuki.

Her chocolate strands hid her face from the world for a second, her arms stretching up as she try to get herself ready to start the day. Her limbs cracked a bit and she winced at the sound, it was so disturbing. Her fingers flexed a bit and she yawned with sudden tiredness. She knew that it would be nice to sleep for a few more hours but she had chores to do. Even though it was summer, she always had something to do around the house, she saw to that. She hated to laze around all day like a sloth, but she was sure that Kyo, Yuki, and Shigure enjoyed it to the very most.

"So, what do I have to do this morning?" she asked herself as she walked towards her bathroom, her fingers running along the cool metal as she lapsed her hand over the golden knob. "Laundry, dishes, cooking." She went on with her daily duties of brushing her hair, brushing her teeth and among other things. She looked at herself in the mirror and decided to just let her hair be free today, not restrained by any clips of bows. It looked quite nice like that, free and fine. She ran her hands through the chocolate, straight locks, wondering what she would look like if she was to curl them. But she had better things to do then waste her time on looking pretty.

Tohru's fingers stretched over the knob one more time and she was let back into her clean, proper room. Her eyes of chestnut brown looked across the room, searching for things out of place, but nothing came to her vision and she smiled. How wonderful. Her feet took her soundlessly to her dressers. What to wear today? Something nice, but not to nice. Her hands rummaged through the dresser until she came upon a nice white blouse and a pair of loose fitting jeans. As she dressed she listened for something, but nothing came to her ears and she frowned. Even though it was summer Kyo usually got up early was training. What was taking him?

As she walked out her bedroom door she noticed that the house was completely silent, no sounds rustling towards her ears. It was strange, a bit too strange for her taste. She walked down the stairs, her feet gently grazing the floors. She bit back the sensation to scream as she did so, there was no noise. Why wasn't there any noise? No squeaking of mattress's, nothing. Where was everyone? Where could they all possibly be?

She walked into the kitchen and a happy smile was strewn across her face. Sitting there was both Yuki and Kyo. She smiled and moved towards them, reaching out a hand to touch their usually warm skin. But as her fingers felt for the sensation of warmth none came. She smiled still, ignoring the fact that they were deathly cold. Her nail trailed across the cold skin until she came up to Yuki's face. His eyes were open but death stained. She smiled weakly.

"You'll catch cold if you don't get a blanket, Yuki-kun, Kyo-kun," she murmured and turned back to the kitchen part of the room to begin to make the food.

Ignorance was a bliss.
