Yes, I FINALLY saw Masters of All Time. Which, admittedly, creeped me out. I mean, milk-maid-Maddie, non-bitter-Vlad, ECTO-ACNE JACK! Well, the last I was expecting, but what scared me the most was how tolerant Maddie was in the AU. She accepted Jack! GASPO!

Expect one line of complete techno-mumbo-jumbo. My own theory on Diet Cola. And yes, Danny still has his powers because the ghost-power Danny went back to before the portal was created, so…yah.

SUMMARY: After Danny has fixed the timeline between his family and Vlad, he goes back to the time when his parents work on the portal, and they can't find why the portal isn't working! Perhaps their son has a clue…?

DISCLAIMER: no, not Masters of All Time, not DP. Sorry.

RATED: K+. Whatever.

Carbonated

"I don't know what it is!" sighed Maddie dejectedly. "The calculations are wrong, and the ecto-purifier is rejecting the filter!" She dropped the research on the table and walked away from the table. Hiding in the corner of the shadows by the stairs, Danny grinned.

Danny became invisible and let his mom walk past him. He stared at the research and pushed it away. Too many numbers on too many papers. He already had the solution. Danny took his diet cola, popped the tab, and poured the dark liquid into a beaker. He poured it into the ecto-purifier canister and placed it in its proper area, right by the filter in a metal tab. Immediately, the portal fired up and he chuckled.

"If I had known this earlier, I wouldn't have gotten my powers," he muttered to himself. He walked up, turned it off, and went to bed.

Maddie came down and sorely pressed the on-button of the portal, for one second just pretending that it worked. To her amazement, the doors slid open and a world of glowing green gave her a careful warning. She gasped, closed the gate, and ran upstairs where the family was sitting in the living room.

"Come down, come down!" she said, catching her breath. Danny grinned knowingly, where as Jack jumped to his feet, immediately asking, "What? What happened?"

"The portal, it's working!"

"What? But how?"

"I don't know, I didn't do anything after last night, nothing worked! Jazz…?" asked Maddie, suspecting her eldest daughter, who was a psychiatric genius. If she wanted to, the young redhead could probably be a gifted mechanic, ghost-hunting or not. However, Jazz shook her head.

"Danny…?" He smiled.

"Ya caught me."

"But how did you do it? How did you know?"

"In order: Diet Cola, and I have my ways." Maddie excused his mysterious answer and began plotting.

"OF COURSE! The carbon in the soda would take the place of the former carbon in the ectoplasm, thus causing it to become the exact opposite of oxygen and carbon dioxide, allowing it to coexist in our environment! Danny, you're a genius!" Maddie grabbed her son in a great hug, nearly crushing his lungs in the process.

"MOM! AIR!" he managed to squeeze out. Maddie let go and ran downstairs, leaving the two Fenton children in the room.

"Danny," grinned Jazz. "You're a good kid." Danny smirked smugly; Jazz admitted it! "Try saving yourself more often." With that cryptic message, she walked up to her room. It took Danny a few minutes to decode what she had said.

"HEY, wait a minute! Jazz, get back here, when'd you get sent back here!"

Fin

Yep. Jazzie got sent back through time too! I actually quite like my theory!
