Hollow notes echoed throughout an abandoned house. A dark haired boy sat in front of a dusty piano, letting his emotions melt into the music. Every thought, every memory he ever knew was present in that house, mingling together forming the soul of the damaged boy.
He let his pale fingers
find their own melody, dancing over the keys.
His dark eyes were
shut, the one part of himself which had ever shown what he truly
felt. Only the skilled could tell the difference between darkness and
emptiness.
Sorrow, hatred, loss, denial, guilt… the music left no emotion out.
He couldn't lie to himself any more.
His eyes slowly opening, the darkness like an abyss filled with years of hidden feelings.
His fingers never left the keys, seventeen years of memories filling the room.
With every memory of him a tear formed in his dark eyes. Those eyes used to hold no emotion; he was too strong, too noble to ever let others see.
He had taught him how to feel again. He had shown him that emotions didn't make you weak. He had made him feel real, alive … worthwhile.
Salty tears silently feel onto the piano, mixing between his fingers and the keys.
How could he have been so selfish? How could he have driven the one who believed in him away? How could he have hurt him so harshly?
The melody roughened, his fingers moving faster and angrier over the keys, letting out his frustration within himself the only way he knew how.
The anger molded
with the other emotions lingering throughout the house.
Another
wave of sorrowful notes soon joined.
Hot tears started to fall quickly, his shoulders starting to buckle, and his fingers slipping from the keys.
Falling onto his hands and knees before the piano, he allowed the long awaited tears to fall, eyes stinging from the new sensation.
Blonde hair, blue eyes and an ever-lasting smile filling his mind, causing the tears to flow harder. Squeezing his eyes shut, trying to suffocate the memories which keep him alive.
"W-why… did I do this to you … to myself… why was I so s-selfish… I wish y-you were here with me… N-naruto…"
