D'Void focused on the red sky as he stood on a rock in the Null Void. The corners of his mouth went up. The sky was the color of blood.
D'Void glanced at six Null Guardians. ''Are you going to protect me from enemies again, my pets?'' He heard the Null Guardians while they screeched.
''Let's find my enemies before you defeat them,'' D'Void said. He hopped from rock to rock. He looked back. D'Void continued to smile.
*My pets always protect me from enemies* he thought. That was when he looked ahead.
D'Void grinned after he saw Pierce and Helen with Manny. *I guess my enemies found me* he thought. D'Void viewed them scowling.
''Are you going to try to arrest me for conquering the Null Void again?''
''That's correct,'' Pierce said.
Manny shot at D'Void before two baby Null Guardians flew to where D'Void was. He gasped after lasers struck the Null Guardians. He watched D'Void while the latter's eyes became wide. Manny viewed him holding the Null Guardians. *The babies protected D'Void?* Manny shook his head in disbelief.
Scowling, D'Void glanced at the adult Null Guardians. ''Carry my enemies to the dungeon in my citadel. End their lives slowly and painfully.''
D'Void viewed the Null Guardians lifting Helen and Manny with Pierce. His eyes were still on the Null Guardians before they departed. He faced the babies.
D'Void's lower lip trembled. A tear ran down his face after a baby kissed him. He watched while the babies ceased breathing. D'Void saw the red sky again. *I'm alive, but the baby Null Guardians...* His shoulders slumped. D'Void began to sob. *My pets always protect me from enemies.*
