Manny scowled after he viewed D'Void standing on a rock in the Null Void. *D'Void isn't going to conquer the Null Void in a cell.*
Manny also saw six Null Guardians by D'Void. *I must defeat every Null Guardian to get to him. Maybe I can run by the Null Guardians.
I'm fast* he thought. He glanced at Helen and Pierce. *Not as fast as Helen* Manny thought.
''My pets are hungry,'' D'Void said to his enemies. His grin stretched from ear to ear. ''Your four arms will be appetizers. Your body? The main course. Your companions? Dessert,'' he informed Manny.
''Your pets will have to starve,'' Manny said.
The Null Guardians attacked the trio.
Helen used her tail to strike a Null Guardian's form. She viewed it falling on another rock. Frowning, she faced Pierce.
She gasped after a Null Guardian bit Pierce's arm. Helen watched while her sibling winced. ''Pierce!'' she exclaimed with wide eyes.
After rolling to Pierce, Helen struck the Null Guardian with her tail. Her eyes were on the Null Guardian while it fell. She saw Pierce again.
''I have to get you to a safe place,'' she said. Helen's shoulders slumped after she saw the bite mark on Pierce's arm. She looked back before Manny approached her.
''I can carry Pierce,'' Manny said. He took Pierce and lifted him. Manny carried him to their home as Helen followed them. He placed Pierce on the floor. Manny found a piece of cloth and wrapped it around Pierce's arm. He turned to Helen.
Manny saw tears in Helen's eyes. His expression was one of concern. ''Helen?'' He placed one hand on her shoulder.
''I never protected Pierce. A Null Guardian almost killed him. If Pierce died...'' Helen said under her breath. She walked to Pierce. *I'll protect you this time, Pierce. I won't abandon you* she thought. She remained near Pierce until his arm eventually healed.
After Pierce recovered, he and his companions saw D'Void with the latter's Null Guardians in the Null Void again. He glanced at Helen.
She never abandoned him. Helen still protected him.
The Null Guardians surrounded Helen and Pierce with Manny.
