Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Stepney Gets Lost" from Season 5. Enjoy and comment.
One day, Sir Topham Hatt paid a visit to Stepney, the bluebell engine.
"Rusty tells me you're in need of a change, so I want you to help Mavis and Toby at the quarry."
"Thank you sir!" said Stepney. "Will I be away long?"
"Just for today. But be careful not to get lost. You can easily get lost on the way. And make sure to be back before sunset."
"We will!" said his driver.
Stepney soon arrived at the quarry.
"We're glad you're here." said Toby.
"Are these my cars?" asked Stepney.
"Some of them are yours." replied Mavis, "There's tons more on the siding."
"The more the merrier!"
And so Stepney set off to work at once.
Stepney was really enjoying working at the quarry.
And the dirtier he became, the more harder he worked.
Mavis and Toby were impressed.
Later, the foreman spoke to his driver.
"We have a night special that needs to be taken to the new building on the branch-line. Can you pull the train?"
"We will!" said his driver.
But he should have asked Sir Topham Hatt first.
Soon, night fell.
"Be careful Stepney!" advised Toby.
"I will! Thanks for a lovely day!"
And so Stepney puffed away.
Stepney arrived on-time, delivering rocks and stones for the workmen.
Then, he set off home.
And that's when the trouble began.
Fog came down,
"Boy does this look spooky," thought Stepney.
Then, the driver noticed something.
"There's a signalbox!" called his driver. "And it's green, so someone must have been expecting us!"
But they weren't!
However, the points had been set on the wrong direction, but Stepney didn't realize that.
They soon approached an unknown area
The driver made a decision.
"It's best if we rest here until the fog clears!" he said.
"What are those strange sounds?" wondered Stepney.
Then, the fog slowly lifted.
"Oh no!" cried Skarloey. "We're in the scrapyards!"
His driver and fireman went for help.
Stepney was all alone, but not for long.
Two diesels approached.
"You'll make very fine scrap indeed!" called a diesel.
They coupled him up, and took him to the smelters shed.
"Bye bye Stepney!" laughed the other diesel.
Stepney looked up, and noticed a huge grabber.
"This engine isn't for scrapping!" he snapped.
The grabber wasn't listening.
But just as it was to get hold on him, it stopped!
And there was Sir Topham Hatt!
"It's a good thing I'm visiting the scrapyard tonight. I just saved you from scrap."
"Thank you sir!" exclaimed Stepney. "And I have learned something!"
"What's that?"
"There's no place like home!"
"And that's exactly where you're going now!"
Stepney was delighted!
