The Science Fair
According to Chairman Suoh, the annual Ouran Academy science fair for 1st-years was to be very educational and forward thinking. All projects were to be presented in the Main Hall where parents and students could view them.
On the day of the fair, everyone from the Host Club came to view the projects presented by their friends and fellow hosts. Unfortunately, several projects were disqualified due to malfunctioning equipment.
The experiment on Animal Magnetism by Haruhi Fujioka was canceled before she could plug in her cat. The project by Hikaru Hitachin on Gravity's Effect on First Graders was canceled when the custodians wouldn't let him borrow a ladder. And the nuclear-powered teacup built by Kaoru Hitachin was taken away by the police, who said Kaoru would be back in school "any day now."
Renge Houshakuji won first prize with her TNT yams. By planting seeds in gunpowder and watering them with nitroglycerin, she grew yams that explode when you drop them.
"What a dynamite idea," Chairman Suoh joked.
To date, nobody has figured out how the prize-winning yams got into the salad served to the Principal at lunchtime later that day. Just to be safe, though, the Vegetable Souffle was taken off the lunch menu.
