Please review and tell me what you think. The plot bunnies made me do it, they wouldn't leave me alone so here it is! And if any one has a better name (because mine sucks) please feel free to give them!

Taking my last few breaths was hard. So was facing the fact that I was dying. It was all because of something immortal. Something inhumane that was begging me to stop squirming.

Finally I did, everything in my body had gone numb. My breathing came in deep shallow pants. The human, for lack of a better term, was watching me with a wide smile. Glowing blood red eyes, they backed away, leaving me to die with a burning feeling starting to spread through my body.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

It seemed like days before the flames died. Slowly retreating from my finger tips. Sitting up it dawned on me, I wasn't dead. I looked down at my changed body, my skin was now a pail gray and my features flawless.

I looked around trying to figure out where I was. A meadow, the trees were clearer and I could see the small ants five feet away scurrying back to their holes with small chunks of things.

"Hello?" I called out, praying for an answer. Standing up, I felt stronger, like I could run a marathon and never be tired. I looked up to the sky; of course, it was a gray and cloudy evening. What else would you expect from La Grande? During the month of May you could get all the seasons in one day.

"I've never seen this place before." I said aloud. "Aimee, get a grip! Listen, your talking to yourself!" Sighing I took off running. The trees were flying past as I came to a sudden stop at the top of a mountain. Wow. I really could run a marathon and never get tired! I thought to myself. I wonder if I can fly? I ran to the bottom of the hill, and at full speed ran back up and jumped of the peak of the mountain. Air born, I smiled, and then came down like some one dropping a ton of bricks into a deep hole.

Picking myself off the forest floor I made a mental note. I CAN NOT fly. Peering through the trees I saw a small house. I approached it and knocked on the door.

A small old woman opened the door. "Can I help you?" She asked her frail figure gently swaying.

"Yes, Could you tell me where I am? I…" I didn't have an explanation. If I told her I had become something… immortal, she would think I was crazy. Then it hit me. A vision:

I was standing in front of a big sign, it read: Welcome to Forks Washington. There were trees all around and the sky was gray, just like here. It felt like home.

"I was hiking and I had gotten lost." I smiled.

"What's your name dear?" She asked as she ushered me inside.

"Aimee Rene Valentina." I said remembering the picture on my student ID. "May I use your bathroom?" I asked, remembering that it was in my back pocket.

"Sure, it's just down the hall and the first door on the left." She said pointing to a picture filled walkway. I hurried down it nervous of what I would see in the mirror.

Opening the out of date door and knob was one of the slowest seconds of my life. Above the sink was a small mirror.
