(A/N) Sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog: 25 Years Later, this is where all bets are off the multiverse is collapsing and the Zone Cops are getting desperate so without further ado lets see how bad it can get.
Set 1 year after the events of Sonic the Hedgehog; 25 Years Later...at least in Sonic's universe :p
Chapter 1: Code Red
(No Zone, Zone Cops base of Operations)
The multiverse is collapsing by the second with someone abusing the excess power of the destructive vortex energy many universes have completely faded out of existence or collided with other universe causing a universal implosion destroying anything in its vicinity, its gotten so bad that the Zone Cops have initiated a Code Red which means all bets are off.
"Warden Zobotnik is approaching the offices now." A voice over the intercom said.
"What is the meaning of all this why was I taken away from my work?" Warden Zobotnik looked visibly irritated.
"Sir the whole multiverse is collapsing I believe you noticed the anomaly's happening over the No Zone?" Zonic asked.
"Now that you mention it I did see that happening over at the prisons and the prisoners began disappearing and fading away like they cease to exist." Warden Zobotnik replied.
"Right so we needed you down here to keep the men in check many of them have been running wild." Zspio interjected.
"I understand but where is my assistant? Such a slacker!" Warden Zobotnik grumbled.
Zonic rolled his eyes he could never stand the warden and proceeded on with his work hoping that the warden didn't return it was Zally's idea to bring him here much to the Zone Cop's chagrin, suddenly a coffee was placed next to him where he saw Zlaze.
"Oh thanks Zlaze usually Zouge does this when she's bored." Zonic said with a rare smile.
"Yeah only with you Zonic its to annoy the other Zone Cops because you are the only one who doesn't have the hots for her." Zector joked.
"Enough time for jokes when the multiverse isn't exploding." Zonic groaned.
Zlaze giggled a bit but stifled it back a bit so Zonic wouldn't notice when he turned back drinking his coffee a bit more.
'That's really good now I don't feel so stressed' Zonic thought sighing in relief. "You should probably get back to work before Zally yells at you again ." He said quickly.
Zlaze felt a shiver up her spine and nodded quickly and left the room so the Zone Cops could concentrate.
"Okay I managed to get a feed going Zonic but bad news I can only get four people here any more and the system fries." Zector explained.
"Darn well find the strongest readings I'll try and find them as soon as possible." Zonic replied.
Zector nodded and images of four hedgehogs appeared on the screen from different universes but the one who caught his eye was Sonic from Mobius Prime.
"These appear to be the strongest not just in strength but in other areas too just like how we always do it." Zector said drinking a soda quickly.
"Willpower and determination is what we need so should we go get them Zonic?" Zspio asked.
"Absolutely we need all of them, wheres the warp rings?" Zonic asked.
"Right here buddy now go get them here." Zector finished.
Zonic nodded and went through the warp rings as he was going on a dangerous mission especially when teleporting through an unstable environment like a collapsing multiverse.
(Mobius Prime/No Zone)
A year has passed and the whole world continued its peace with G.U.N having established defensive borders to protect their cities and kingdoms and Mobius has expanded with Overlanders and Mobians living together peacefully without Eggman or the Iron Dominion to threaten their way of life everything seemed right in the world, it was early morning over at the kingdom and Sally just woke up from her sleep seeing Sonic still resting looking exhausted.
"You knock your father out a lot don't you, you devil." Sally said playfully as a baby giggled.
Alicia was born shortly after the era of peace was announced and with Sonic by her side compared to her alternate counterpart it made her feel happier to raise her daughter, she cradled Alicia as the baby girl was giggling seeing her mother pull goofy faces.
"I hear baby laughs." A tired voice came from behind Sally.
"Just playing with Alicia she's got a lot of energy today." Sally said playfully.
"You're giving her breakfast today." Sonic groaned as he fell back onto the bed.
Sally giggled seeing her husband so tired was a rare sight but she always enjoyed the company even if he was barely awake half of the time, since the peace treaty Sonic had to attend a lot of meetings since he was the instigator of the peace and because he was so certain of all the wrong things in the world having to explain his time travel story over a hundred times.
"Come on get up breakfast will be ready soon." Sally said poking Sonic's nose.
"Alright, alright I'm awake." Sonic laughed a bit.
Sonic stood up doing a few stretches and exercises to wake him up which worked but every father requires a morning coffee to wake up completely and Sonic yawned as he made his way towards the dining area where he saw the king and queen have already sat down alongside their son Elias and he smiled as he sat down alongside them greeting them all.
"Sonic we would like you to run some errands dear." Queen Alicia requested.
"Sure thing your highness whats the issue?" Sonic asked.
"Nothing just a few supplies to pick up little Alicia needs her clothes after all." The Queen said blushing thinking about her adorable grandchild.
"Aha no problem was planning on going out and getting some essentials anyway I'll be there and back." Sonic said as he stood up.
"Sonic remember your coffee." Sally interjected.
Sonic looked at her in surprise but took the mug with a smile and chugged the coffee down regrettably it seemed as Sonic shivered a bit from the taste but gave her a thumbs up and left the castle quickly but suddenly the whole area became distorted as it seemed the whole world stood still with the royal family frozen in place which worried Sonic as he made his way outside seeing the whole city including the cars were completely still.
"What on earth is going on?" Sonic asked himself.
"We had to freeze time to protect it." Zonic said appearing behind him.
"You're Zonic aren't you, and what do you mean protect it?" Sonic asked.
"Long story short that vortex energy that you were subjected to a year ago has been placed in the wrong hands and the multiverse is in danger so we require your assistance." Zonic explained.
"That doesn't explain why everyone had to be frozen." Sonic said breathing out in frustration.
"Trust me its for their safety because I apologize for asking this we need you for hero's business." Zonic replied.
"Sigh fine as long as they are all safe whatever I'll join you but keep your word that my wife and daughter will be safe." Sonic said sternly.
"I solemnly swear brother I'm a Zone Cop its my job to protect the universe." Zonic finished.
Sonic nodded and Zonic opened a portal with his warp ring and both of them walked through as Zonic held onto Sonic so that he wouldn't be taken away by the destabilising tears through the universe till they made their way into the main office area as everyone saw them exit and crowded around the are minus three other familiar looking hedgehogs in the distance.
"So the big hog has shown 'imself about time." One said.
"Those Zone Cops really appreciate this guy should we be afraid?" Another asked.
"Scanners say he poses no threat to us so no we should not feel threatened." A third robotic one replied.
Sonic looked around seeing the No Zone for the first time he saw different versions of his friends from his timeline in armour like they were in the police force and his eyes turned to the three other hedgehogs that looked similar to himself until Zonic snapped him out of his moment and averted his hand to signal Sonic to walk that direction and he proceeded while still looking around.
"Sonic's of the alternate timelines this is Sonic Prime." Zonic introduced.
"Sonic Prime?" Sonic asked.
"Oh forgive me to differentiate you from the others we've established your code name as Sonic Prime." Zonic quickly explained.
"So these are alternate versions of myself a robot, one in a strange outfit and a cowboy?" Sonic asked.
"I detect sarcasm in his tone. I introduce myself as Unit X12 or Metal Sonic based off the deceased hero in my timeline" The robot Sonic explained himself, he looked so much like Sonic himself but clearly fitted with all the technology in the world that it would make the original Metal Sonic have an inferiority complex.
"I'll have you know this outfit is keeping me alive and made out of a strong polymer and my name is Sonik with a strong K" Sonik explained himself, he was the Sonic of the alternate timeline trapped in suspended animation and was awoken to a post apocalyptic world and is a member of the Galactic Freedom Fighters.
"I call him Nik personally pal as for me I'm no cowboy I'm a hero in mah own right my old name was Sonic but my code names are Billy and Kid remember those if you want my attention boy." Billy said, he was like if Sonic stopped caring about qualms of killing and looked like more of a bounty hunter than a cowboy he made Sonic nervous a bit.
"Now you have been accustomed with the others I'm going to explain the situation." Zonic coughed slightly.
He turned on the screen showing a hidden enemy holding vortex energy in his palm as his eyes shone an intimidating purple and Sonic got severe Enerjak flashbacks as his head began to hurt as he was about to collapse to the ground until Billy grabbed him looking at Zonic who turned off the image quickly.
"It can't be I purified him he can't be alive." Sonic said weakly.
"Its not Enerjak but its like this being had combined all of the evils in many universes and that vortex energy is the core of it all that is damaging the continuum and we need to wipe it out and its strong on your universes which that being seeks heavily and us placing protection over it is halting him from achieving his goals so the plan is that you need to go to several universes and find the source of the vortex energy and wipe it out clean do you understand?" Zonic ordered.
"Hey you don't need to tell me twice you 'ave a deal." Billy replied.
"First we need you to enter Mobius Z its an opposite to Prime which means that its a prime target of the hunters." Zonic replied.
"Opposite to Prime? It can't be." Sonic said to himself.
"Unfortunately I cannot accompany you to Mobius Z so I place you under the eyes of Zilver our scout." Zonic pointed.
Zilver was snoring lazily as Zonic clenched his fist furiously and hit the hedgehogs helmet which woke him up instantly as he yawned he was scolded by Zonic as everyone looked away in confusion and fear if it wasn't Zally's scolding that scared them it was their senior officers.
"I'm sorry sir it won't happen again." Zilver said urgently.
"It will and you know it now get these lot to Mobius Z I have a meeting with Zouge in 5 minutes." Zonic grunted.
Zilver nodded quickly and stumbled up as he walked over quickly to the four Sonic's and coughed awkwardly as he grabbed a warp ring and opened a portal as he allowed them all to enter and they all followed through with Zilver leaping through to catch up with them all while Zonic groaned lifting his helmet and rubbing his eyes until he heard his wrist watch go off.
"Keep an eye on their condition and that Zilver too." Zonic finished.
He left the offices with everyone staring at him in confusion rubbing their eyes and scratching their heads.
(Zouge's Office)
Coffee was poured as Zonic sat at the desk trying to get his wrist watch to work properly as it was busted from frequent jumps through the timelines and grunted in response.
"You need to stop stressing its not good for a senior officer to tense up 24/7." She said putting a mug down.
"You're right but how does one stay calm in this situation?" Zonic asked.
"Well like me you think happy thoughts and talk to me about your problems." Zouge joked.
Zonic laughed a bit even though Zouge had a bit of a habit with flirting with him she was a good friend to the Zone Cop.
"Well if you don't me asking officer whats your opinion on the new recruits?" She asked.
"Zharmy the Bee is a good boy he's passed all of his tests and examinations but he's a distracted one comes with being a kid I suppose." Zonic said.
"I quite like Zream the Rabbit she has some fire but a smart kid all the same." Zouge replied.
"Of course you would like her Zouge she's your adopted niece." Zonic joked.
Both of them laughed a bit till they heard a knock at the door which shut them both up fearing it was their Chief.
"I came to deliver those records you needed Zouge." Zlaze's voice was heard through the door.
"Oh of course dear come on in." Zouge said in a polite voice.
Zlaze entered and noticed Zonic and almost dropped the records on the floors to salute him quickly as Zouge giggled a bit at her reaction.
"At ease Zlaze I'm just here for a de-stress and some coffee." Zonic replied.
"Of course sir I apologize anything you need let me know." Zlaze said before leaving the room.
"She's a newbie too and it appears that she gets weak knees at the sight of you." Zouge teased.
"Now's not the time for relationships especially in my position." Zonic replied drinking the last bit of his coffee.
Zouge finished her coffee too and poured herself and Zonic a new one and stood up rubbing Zonic's shoulders which were incredibly tense.
"Loosen up a bit Zonic they can do the job they are you after all." Zouge reassured.
"I know they will." Zonic finished.
(Mobius Z)
Zilver jumped through as the four other Sonic's appeared through as well witnessing a new universe with some of them in complete awe while Sonic was unfazed he knew this place for certain and turned back at Zilver who was minding his own business till he noticed eyes on him and reacted quickly walking away with a nervous grin on his face.
"Great that Zonic guy left us with a slacker." Billy whispered to Sonic.
"Yeah its like his first day on the job." Sonic replied.
Zilver placed down a backpack like object and it opened up showing a large amount of equipment as Zilver chucked four trackers at the Sonic's with the Metal Sonic crushing his with his bare hands.
"I am a robot I don't need any tracking machinery." Metal Sonic said with a hint of that Sonic humour in its tone.
"R-right I got it." Zilver said visibly recoiling.
"I recommend we split up from here its better if we track a lot of ground I'll go with the tin can here." Sonik suggested.
"Sure thing pal I'll go with youngin' here." Billy joked.
"I'll stay here and monitor your movements throughout this timeline remember to stay safe." Zilver said.
Sonic clicked his neck and jumped around a bit to get his joints going and in a moments notice he sped off quickly with Billy laughing a bit turning to Zilver covered in sand.
"I like that kid." Billy finished before speeding off himself.
"I hate this job." Zilver moaned.
(A moment later)
Sonic and Billy arrived to an old abandoned foundation as they walked around getting nothing on the readings which Sonic decided to bust open a rickety door which he unsurprising found no one inside and sighed as he looked around seeing the entire area completely empty without a sign or a clue as to where the energy source was and if his memory serves correct this old place brings back a lot of old memories.
"Sonic I appear to 'ave found something buried in the sands." Billy called.
Sonic ran outside as he saw Billy holding a jewel as he laughed at the accomplishment of finding buried treasure however Sonic's heart completely sank as he knew what that was a grabbed the gem to get a closer look.
"I know what this is Billy this is a problem if this is gone then..." Sonic trailed off.
Above them a robot towering the mountainside appear releasing a ear-piercing scream as the two hedgehogs held their ears to try and buffer the sound of metal scrapping against a trash can.
"What on earth is that thing?!" Billy exclaimed.
"I have no idea but if I have to guess its the clean up crew trying to find that vortex energy." Sonic called out over the loud noise.
"Well don't lose that gem I'm going to try and distract it!" Billy called out.
Billy pulled out what looked like two revolvers and shot at the metallic madness but the bullets barely fazed it as it only directed attention down to the two hedgehogs as the robot released a large beam which almost destroyed the island.
"Darn nothin' can hurt it our best bet is escapin'" Billy grunted before noticing Sonic was gone.
Sonic ran up the robots body dodging all of the waves of its arms and the small blasters on it's body using his homing attack to take them out before reaching the head of the robot using his homing attack he knocked the robot off balance but the homing attack hurt him this robot was made out of something tough that he couldn't describe.
"He'll be fazed for a while I suggest we run." Sonic grunted holding his arm.
"Don't 'ave to tell me twice kid." Billy replied as he began running away quickly with Sonic following.
(With Sonik and Metal Sonic)
Both of them also turned up with no results as they were left wandering the caves out of hope and obligation as Sonik sighed sitting down he looked up noticing Metal Sonic held his hand out to pick him up.
"We must continue with the mission Sonik otherwise we will fail." Metal Sonic said.
"I know tin can I'm just thinking about where something like this power can be hidden." He replied thinking heavily.
"My theory is that it is hidden in temple like areas possibly Echidna or Ancient Overlanders." Metal Sonic suggested.
"You make a fair point Metal good idea lets go find those then." Sonik replied.
"Of course lets us make our way there." Metal Sonic nodded.
Before speeding off Metal Sonic's head quickly turned as he detected several threats behind him as he set off a flare to see down the long dark cave and dog like creatures were charging at them and Metal Sonic shot rockets hitting some of them wiping them out.
"Sonik their energy readings resemble that of the vortex energy they are our enemy!" Metal Sonic called.
"Don't worry about it we should cave off this place keep them from following us." Sonik suggested.
"Good plan watch your step." Metal Sonic said as he used his eye lasers to block the creatures off as they heard them growl and struggle to break through.
"Over here!" A voice called.
"She can be trusted lets follow her." Metal Sonic finished.
Both of the hedgehogs rushed off as the cave began collapsing due to the shock-waves coming from the creatures relentless attacks.
(Back with Zilver)
He was sleeping when the hedgehogs left the area but was awoken by a large earth shaking rumble as he saw the robots teleport in an alarming rate and Zilver woke up scared and grabbed his intercom and tried getting into contact with the hedgehogs to no avail.
"Code Red Team do you copy?!" He called out in panic.
"We hear you Zilver." Zespio said through the intercom.
"Multiple threats have spawned into Mobius Z at an alarming rate they knew we would be here!" Zilver continued to call out.
"Calm down Zilver as long as you protect your position you should be safe we only have to worry about the Sonic's are we clear?" Zonic called out having returned to his post.
"O-of course sir I'll try my best." Zilver replied ending the intercom.
Zilver breathed in as he noticed several creatures coming at him he used his telekinesis to ward them off completely and creating a barrier around him to protect himself.
"They won't stop they are demons in disguise." A voice behind him said.
"Is that you Zlaze?" He asked.
"No but close I'm Blaze and you are intruding onto my kingdom." She grunted.'
"Apologies your highness but we have a mission here and the hedgehogs need to rid this world of the vortex energy." Zilver said nervously.
"Hedgehogs? Wait Sonic the Hedgehog is here?" She said in surprise.
"Well yeah but..." Zilver tried to explain but Blaze sped off quickly leaving a flaming trail behind her.
Zilver sat back in relief as he reactivated his intercom breathing heavily tired from holding up the barrier.
"Sir we have some help Princess Blaze has made her presence known." He said exhausted.
(End of Chapter)
Billy and Sonic both hid behind some rocks as the robots that were following them walked past keeping quiet as they investigated the area before leaving with the both of them breathing out in unison.
"You doin' alright there?" Billy asked?
"Yeah just a nasty scrape from hitting that large robot down." Sonic replied.
Suddenly like in the speed of sound a fiery trail went past them as the robots that were pursuing them earlier were destroyed completely as the one responsible for it stood up looking at Sonic with a small smile on her face.
"Blaze? I was hoping you were around." Sonic said in surprise.
"Hello stranger I saw what was happening my whole kingdom went still only me and Marine were able to move around." Blaze explained.
Like her name was called Blaze's walkie-talkie picked up the girl's voice and Blaze picked it up.
"I'm here Marine whats the problem?" She asked.
"I found two Sonic lookalikes I'm waiting by the totems for you." Marine said.
"Got it I'll see you soon." Blaze replied ending the conversation.
Blaze looked at Billy scraping himself off in confusion as all she saw was a western version of Sonic.
"I can explain everything when we all group up." Sonic said quickly knowing what she was going to ask.
"Alright but we should be quick those things are relentless." Blaze replied.
Sonic and Billy nodded in response and all three of them sped off as something raised from the ground removing goggles exposing her face as she grinned as what looked like followers raised from the ground with her.
"Go and get them my pets."
Who is this mysterious girl who appeared from nowhere and is she linked to a greater evil that is seeking the power of the vortex to destroy the multiverse, stay tuned for more very soon I hope you enjoyed this introduction
