Navi looked at James with a blank face as he said those words. The words that started this whole goddamn thing between them. The pain, the lies, and the betrayal. When the brunette didn't get a response, he said it again, doubt beginning to cloud his hazel eyes. He thinks saying those words is going to fix everything? You can't put a band-aid on a bullet wound.

What is love? It's when two people have strong feelings for each other to where they would do anything for the other, right? The one you want to be with so you can hug, kiss, and love with all your heart?

However, as the teen looked at her supposed 'lover' she felt nothing. Those words were said too much and not enough. She used to love him, but the boy she fell in love with was gone. He was just a shell of what James used to be.

The boy in front of her had tears in his eyes, the same eyes that used to be filled with passion now they just have pointless desperation. Tears don't help anyone.

"Navi! Please answer! I said I loved y-" Said purple haired girl cut him off and she stared into his eyes. I'm going to finally say it. I've had too much of this shit. We've had too much of this shit.

"I know, but...I don't love you. You say I love you now, but when I needed you to say it most, you didn't." Even after all you owe, you're still the good-for-nothing I don't know.

There was betrayal shining in his eyes. " Is that it, then? Are you going to leave me without anything?" He looked down at the ground to break eye contact as he crossed his arms, refusing to show how hurt he was to her.

Five days ago, I would have ran to you saying that I do love you, but it wouldn't help either of us if we kept on lying to ourselves. Though it's hard to leave me now, I know you'll move on by the time I come crawling back.

The teen turned with her back to her first love and began to walk away. James crumpled to the ground as he stared at her retreating back; tears streaking down his face.

However, she paused. She looked back at his crumpled figure and as hazel bore into blue, Navi sighed and said what she's needed to say for days.

"I don't love you, but... " she hesitated. Purple hair whipped across Navi's face as her blue eyes bore into his. I can't say it. I-I can't do this… I…

No. She can and she will say it. She needs to sever the ties between them once and for all. Even when she comes crawling back to him later. Now, she is strong and brave. She will do this.

Finally, her mouth a straight line, she looked at the carpet beneath her her feet and finished her sentence as a whisper that James strained his ears to hear.

"... I thought I did." With those words, she grabbed her fingerless black gloves and left.
