*I don't own Jane and the Dragon or its characters.

As I fall, I don't feel pain, I don't feel fear, I only have regret.

I regret I didn't tell Jester I loved him, I regret I wasn't kinder to mother, mostly I regret that I'm falling to my death. How could this happen?

Dragon somehow vanished in mid-air while we were on patrol.

And now I'm falling for what feels like eternity. If only I could have lived differently, I would live everyday to the fullest, I would have eaten tastier food, I would have been kinder to my friends, I would have loved that fool.

As the ground gets closer, I closed me eyes and prepare for impact.

I'm sorry

With a loud thud, I hit the floor as I fell out of bed

It was a dream? Thank goodness

Barging through my door Jester asked "Are you alright Jane?"

My lovable fool

Rubbing my neck, I replied "I'm alright, I only had a bad dream"

Helping me up he said "I'm glad you're not hurt"

I'm glad you're here

Hugging Jester, I asked "You're really here, right?"

Hugging back me tightly, he answered "Yes, but what is the matter?"

"Just listen Jester, I dreamed I was falling to my death. And while I was falling, I regretted not doing something I should have done a long time ago"

"Like what Jane?"

Without answering, I affectionately kissed him, he was tense at first but soon returned the kiss. As we parted, he asked "Why did you kiss me? Do you know that only sweethearts do that?"

"We have known each other for a long time, and I have grown to love you, but never told you. I love you Jester, always have always will"

As we stay in an embrace, he asked "Can I confess something?"

"Go ahead"

"I have loved you ever since we met, and hearing you tell me you love me, well I could die happy."

"Please don't die"

Separating from our embrace, Jester grabbed my hand, and said happily "Don't you know a fool can never die"

"I'll make sure you don't"

Holding hands we left my room, to go and talk to my parents about courting. They accepted, and we are soon to marry, but that is a different story.
