CHAPTER 1
MEET THE LOSER
I fidget as I feel everyone's gaze falling upon me. I was currently being praised by the principal for winning a national science technology engineering contest. It was the first day of high school, and I was already classified as a nerd.
All throughout my life, I was on the honor roll for everything which resulted in bullying from my classmates.
My friend, Carol made me feel better by saying they were just jealous of my smarts.
For a while I believed those words, it gave me enough strength to endure the day full of teasing. But then, she moved away and my world collapsed once again.
My name is Valerie Morgans, child of Catherine and Theodore Morgans.
Also known as, the couple who discovered a cure for every rare disease that was ever discovered while throwing dashing parties every other night.
Because of their titles, I am also to be expected to have perfect grades and a social life. I only have one and that's enough for me.
Who needs friends when you have science and a really cute boy sitting in front of you in English to stare at?
Just because everyone else has their own little social group doesn't mean I need to join one.
I am proud to be a freckled, flat-chested, extremely short, nerdy, unsocial, weird sixteen year old!
As Valerie was convincing herself that she wasn't embarrassed of her poor qualities as a human being, a tall blonde accidentally spilled her milk that she got from the cafeteria all over her.
Clarissa sure was awfully clumsy, always finding an excuse to ruin Valerie's day.
"Oops, sorry I tripped. Didn't mean to ruin your outfit, even though it was already a mess before the milk."
Valerie bit her tongue, she wanted to make a smart come back and put Clarissa in her place. But that would only result her in a week of being shoved inside a locker.
"It's rude not to forgive someone after they apologized, you know?"
Clarissa wasn't just 'mean', she was a heartless, serpent inside a human's body. From her looks you would assume she was a dumb blonde, but she was a devious dumb blonde.
Valerie had tolerated her bullying since 7th grade all the way to high school. God, it would never end! She had always chosen to take the high road.
"I forgive you." It took all her strength to mutter those three untrue words.
"Good, and I forgive you for existing. Toodles~"
The bell rang as the demon covered in couture perfume left.
I grabbed my bag and took my milk covered self to the bathroom. Leaving small puddles behind me. I was late to history again, just like every other day.
