Frodo remembers Gandalf, and Gandalf thinks of Frodo as well. I wrote this very early on, but I edited it after watching LotR and so its more relevant now. Whatever one sees, its in dream only, not reality.

Hello my friend we meet again

It's been a while

Where should we begin

Feels like forever

Gandalf saw his young charge in front of him, curled up with Sam, his hand clutching the ring as if one of the Nazgul would swoop down and grab it. He sighed, for although he had returned more powerful, he could not help him, for he had taken to go on alone. It would be forever before he had the dimmest notion of seeing this adventurous hobbit again.

Within my heart are memories

Of perfect love that you gave to me

I remember

Frodo's mind reeled at all the images of himself and Gandalf in the peaceful Shire, wishing fervently of the wizard's companionship, for although the wizard did not stay with him, he loved him as much as he loved Bilbo, or Strider.

When you are with me

I'm free…I'm careless…I believe

Above all the others we'll fly

This brings tears to my eyes

My sacrifice

Gandalf continued to scrutinize the hobbit, knowing in hs heart it would be the last time he could drop in on him. This very hobbit, and his uncle as well, had made Gandalf feel young again, as if he had not yet encountered the great hardships of the world. But he had to let his charge go on alone, for it was only that way he could save him from the Balrog.

We've seen our share of ups and downs

Oh, how quickly life can turn around

In an instant

Frodo recalled the moment Gandalf had cast down the Balrog, feeling relieved that this evil demon was brought down, but then the whip had pulled Gandalf down as well, so suddenly.

It feels so good to reunite

Within yourself and within your mind

Let's find peace there

And Frodo wished that he was with Gandalf, instead of in this perilous journey to Mount Doom.

When you are with me

I'm free…I'm careless…I believe

Above all the others we'll fly

This brings tears to my eyes

My sacrifice

Strider, Bilbo, Gandalf – all the memories whizzed in his head, but Frodo knew that this was what he had to do. He had to destroy the Ring, but if the Eye destroyed him first, he would destroy the world. (A/N: How sad.)

I just want to say hello again

I just want to say hello again

Gandalf felt himself pulled away, and bid a last farewell to his charge – then disappeared.

When you are with me

I'm free…I'm careless…I believe

Above all the others we'll fly

This brings tears to my eyes

Coz when you are with me

I'm free…I'm careless…I believe

Above all the others we'll fly

This brings tears to my eyes

My sacrifice

My sacrifice (I just want to say hello again)

I just want to say hello again

My sacrifice

And Frodo slept on.
