Anakin felt a tear drop down his cheek as his young Padawan walked away from him. She had left the Jedi. She had left him. He'd never told her how much she meant to him. And now she was gone.
Well you only need the light when it's burning low.
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow.
He hadn't really thought of how much he needed her.
Only know you love her when you let her go.
He felt like a part of him was missing. A part that could never be replaced, a part that he had just lost.
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low,
only hate the road when you're missin' home.
Only know you love her when you let her go.
Now, Ahsoka was gone.
And you let her go.
Anakin sat in the low levels of Coruscant. The empty glass was in his hand. He was trying to end his sorrow, to forget what had happened entirely. But nothing of Anakin's was his to keep, as he had come to realize.
Staring at the bottom of your glass,
hoping one day, you'll make a dream last.
Ahsoka had been there for him like no one else had. They had only known each other for a short time, and it was over.
But dreams come slow and they go so fast.
That night, Anakin couldn't sleep. He kept thinking of her.
You see her when you close your eyes.
He didn't understand. Why did Ahsoka leave him?
Maybe one day you'll understand why.
But he knew it was like everything else. He had lost so much, and it seemed that he kept harming the people he was close to. His mother had died since he was too late to save her. He had put Padme into danger countless times. He had nearly lost Obi Wan so many times.
Everything you touch surely dies.
The next morning as he walked into the mess hall, he looked for her face, expecting to see it smiling at him among the crowd, perhaps calling to him. He had sometimes found it annoying, but he'd give anything for it now.
But you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go.
Anakin locked himself up in his room. It was dark and cold, like him.
Staring at the ceiling in the dark
Anakin felt the same he had felt since Ahsoka had left.
Same old empty feeling in your heart
He wanted to see her smile. He wanted to hear her calling him names. He had never met anyone like her.
Same old empty feeling in your heart
Anakin saw her in his dreams that night, smiling at him.
Well you see her when you fall asleep
Then he saw her walking away from him.
But never to touch and never to keep
He had cared too much for her. He let his emotions get the best of him.
'Cause you loved her too much
He had let Ahsoka become a part of him.
And you dived too deep.
Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go
Ahsoka was gone.
And you let her go.
