Here's some midnight (more like three in the morning) angst u guys. Hope u enjoy!
He's falling for her. Slowly, but surely, he's falling her and she knows she's supposed to be the happiest girl in the world. But she's not. And she's not one hundred percent sure why.
Naruto eventually got over his crush on her and married Hinata—Sakura herself attended the wedding and even gave a speech as she had nothing but platonic feelings for the orange Hokage—leaving her with no suitors, and allowed her to concentrate on her work.
She started seeing him in her office more than often—even being the tactician and leader of Anbu squads he often got injured and trusted none other than the rosette Head Medic-nin herself to tend to him. Whilst she was bandaging him up she noticed how built he had become—much different from the scrawny lazy-ass she remembered him to be.
She had quietly chuckled to herself and sent him on his way. He came in to check on his other fallen teammates, and he even had a nasty bit with some poison, which caused her to be at his bedside for several days and nights. They soon went from comrades to friends, chitchatting here and there about various things. He confessed to her how he almost had a crush on Ino, and liked Temari for awhile, but things didn't work out there as the commute was too hard for the two shinobi.
Eventually when she had worked long into the night with paperwork and whatnot he would come in with some takeout ramen or some coffee and he would keep her company or help file her papers. She soon grew accustomed to his face, and he to hers. He took a liking to her too. She knew that very well.
She was very, very sorry to him that she could not like him back. At least, not in the way that he liked her.
Whenever she stared into his dark, onyx eyes she would be reminded of another pair that she remembered a little too well. She would trick herself into believing that she was staring into another's eyes, and not into Shikamaru's. But she would then blink and instead of meeting a pale-faced, stone-cold Uchiha, she would see an olive-skinned, slouching Nara.
She wanted to love him, oh she wanted to love him back so bad.
But like it or not, she was still in love with her first crush, Uchiha Sasuke.
She then soon starts finding excuses not to meet up with Shikamaru saying she's "busy" and if he brings her coffee she lets it sit on her desk and then throws it away. If he tries keeping her company, she dismisses him, telling him that she's covered it and that she's fine.
Soon, he gets the hint and stops visiting. He starts going to Ino for check-ups and doesn't bother again. She begins to miss him, but she knows it's for the best.
She can't ever love him. Not that she doesn't want to but that she can't.
She knows that, and it's better that he does too.
She can't ever fall for him. She hates herself, because she honestly wishes she could.
there u go! hope u guys enjoy:P
