A/N: Read/Review Please⦠I really, really, really love them! And just the regular disclaimer I like never put up. I DO NOT OWN WARRIORS! (I wish I did though)
Moonlight danced across the silver stream, creating a beautiful sight as the she-cat sat along the shoreline. Bringing a paw over an ear, she waited for Tigerheart, flicking her tail with slight impatience. A rustling sounded, and a cat appeared, muscular and rather handsome at that.
"Tigerheart!" Dovewing called out, her brilliant blue eyes sparkling with happiness. The broad shouldered tom purred, his voice soft as he spoke.
"Hello, Dovewing," he meowed smoothly, another purr rumbling deep inside his throat. The ShadowClan tom looked around, the very tip of his tail, trembling with nerves of being caught.
"How are you?" she purred, blue eyes dancing with mischievous, along with a bit of affection. Her tail brushed over Tigerheart's spine. He let out a purr and he touched his nose to her cheek.
"Great as always and you?" he inquired, his voice rich and sweet, as though a bit of honey. Dovewing's whiskers twitched.
"Alright," she replied, the moonlight turning her pelt to a familiar silver colour, now shining beautifully. Suddenly, a rustle sounded, making both cats jump in fright. Scenting ThunderClan in a near instant, Tigerheart fled and Dovewing's heart pounded with worry.
Bumblestripe padded out of the thicket, much to Dovewing's relief.
"What in StarClan's name are you doing, Dovewing?" he demanded, although his eyes displayed much affection for the she-cat as he locked his gaze with hers.
The smoky grey she-cat shuffled her paws, shyly looking at the ground. She was not only embarrassed, but also nervous.
"Just out for an evening stroll," Dovewing meowed, and she winced, instantly regretting her words. Although she disliked lying to a good friend, she just had to keep meeting Tigerheart.
Bumblestripe grunted a reply and his muscles flexed as he padded over to Dovewing, eyes blazing with affection.
"Let's bring you back to camp," he meowed, his voice mysterious as he swept his tail around her. The grey she-cat purred softly and licked his cheek. The tom smiled down upon her as his gaze turned serious once more.
"Now we really must be getting back. The whole of ThunderClan is probable worried about you," he meowed, bringing his tail under her chin.
Dovewing nodded, standing next to Bumblestripe, she felt as though they were the only two cats in the world. The bad thing was, she felt the same way when she was with Tigerheart. She knew she'd have to make a decision between them, before someone found out something and she couldn't pick any of them.
One moon later, Dovewing awoke, her brilliant blue eyes shining in the morning sunlight. She'd made her life-long-decision between the two toms she loved. Although, she knew this change would break one of their hearts horribly, and she didn't want to be for blame for that.
The she-cat padded through ThunderClan camp, never replying to any cat who asked her if she was alright. How could she be alright when-
Suddenly, a smooth voice broke into her many troubled thoughts.
"Care to take a stroll, Dovewing?" Bumblestripe asked, his voice growing with affection. Dovewing looked up at him with round, kit-like eyes.
"Okay," she replied, only half-heartedly. Bumblestripe didn't seem to notice her lack of enthusiasm and she was thankful.
She padded through the forest, the tom she loved at her side, she finally voiced her thoughts for the very first time.
"Bumblestripe, I have something to tell you," she started off, stammering a bit as she shuffled her paws, obviously nervous.
"So did I," he replied, his gaze serious as it rested upon Dovewing. He's going to tell me something oh so romantic like he always does! I can't let him, I can't make his heart absolutely beyond repair!
"I know exactly what you're going to tell me, but, please. Let me speak first. I-I cannot be your mate, nor can I love you," tears were beginning to form in her eyes and he instinctively stepped forward to comfort her, but she took a step back, instantly regretting it and wanting to feel his warmth.
"I need to leave, because I'm in love with someone I shouldn't be in love with," she muttered and she turned around.
And walked away.
That night, Tigerheart arose from his nest, padding out of his camp to the stream where he always met Dovewing. The moonlight caught his dark brown pelt, turning it a pale grey.
"Hello?" he called out, wondering if Dovewing was even here. She always seemed to know when he was here, for some reason.
Dovewing appeared, her pelt silver under the mystifying moonlight.
"Yes Tigerheart?" she meowed, and Tigerheart was surprised to find her voice hoarse from crying. The ShadowClan tom was instantly by her side, surprised to hear sorrow in his own mew.
"What happened?" he asked her, hoping not to arouse himself as well. Dovewing looked up at him with huge eyes that told him this was going to be a long story.
And it was.
She told him how Bumblestripe was her ThunderClan mate, and Tigerheart pushed back the jealousy of another tom getting to love Dovewing every day and every night. He pushed the thought away though.
Once the story was over, she looked at him with the same huge eyes that Tigerheart had come to adore.
"I have come to tell you that I can no longer be with Bumblestripe, but you, and only you. Please, he's probable already told the entire Clan that I'm meeting some other cat. We must run away," Tigerheart was surprised at the silence after her words. The urgency in her voice tugged at his heart.
Run away? Is that really the answer? He hissed in his mind. This is Dovewing! The cat you love, of course you'd die for her!
"Of course we must. But first, we'll remain in ShadowClan territory for the night; otherwise we will surely be spotted. Anyhow, come, we must leave immediately," he warned, feeling a protective prick for Dovewing, the cat he loved. I haven't told her I loved her! He realized with a sickening pang.
"Dovewing, first, I need to tell you something,"
She stood on her tippy toes, determined to meet his height and look into his amber eyes.
"Yes?"
"I love you,"
"I love you too,"
The two cats padded off into the darkness of ShadowClan territory, the silver moonlit night was a beautiful sight to behold. And as from this moment on, Tigerheart and Dovewing were never seen or heard from again. Although they still live just past the Moonpool in an abandoned twoleg house, eating all the mice they can eat and loving each other to the moon and back.
So to be honest, they lived happily, ever, after.
I know in my story 'Aftermath' she picks Bumblestripe, but this is a little story for you Tigerheart x Dovewing fans! Your welcome!
