Yeah, thank you Annber03, I had to go there now. XD Also, I know the age thing is a bit wonky here, Jeanne isn't so much older than Shemar she could be his mother even by a stretch, but just to make it a no-go thing I exaggerated it a bit…

Will soon be back with the other thing I'm working on, but I had to get this out of my head.

She turns around to see him take a big bite out of the power bar he just bought. She rolls her eyes - they're here to find out where strong, young, healthy men could have ingested melatonin, for crying out loud - but her sunglasses hides it. She sneaks up on him from the side and murmurs in a low-pitched voice;

"Enjoying your melatonin bar?"

He chuckles.

"Job's making you paranoid, Blake," he says and holds it out for her, offering her a bite. He doesn't think she's going to take him up on it; if there is one thing Alex Blake is, it's restrained. He's still not sure what he thinks of her, but he's willing to give her a chance.

Alex is at least fifteen years his senior, but no matter how much she tries to keep her distant, correct persona, she's not immune to his easy masculine charm. She leans in, puts a hand on his broad, muscular shoulder and closes her lips around the offered power bar, taking a small bite as she seeks his eyes. In spite of them both sporting dark sunglasses, she knows she has his entire attention. She chews, she swallows, really taking her time. Derek keeps watching her, intently, thinking

I may have misjudged this woman a little from the beginning.

He clears his throat and Alex smiles. The warm hand on his shoulder withdraws and he feels cold without its touch. She's not tentative. She's confident. She's also almost old enough to be his mother. And he finds he doesn't care. She looks too damn good in those tight jeans and button-up blouse with the three top buttons undone.

"Mm," she says in that low, slightly husky voice that he has already grown to like, perhaps a little bit more than he should. "That is good."

As he struggles to find his bearings, she switches back to impeccable professionalism again.

"You could see how it happened, though," she says and looks around, once more completely focused on the case they're working. Derek Morgan follows her lead, but finds himself hoping this isn't the last time he gets to be on the receiving end of the newest team member's flirty side.
