A/N: my first 'Hush, Hush' story. Wish me luck. Nora's POV.

Disclaimer: I do not own 'Hush, Hush'.

I blinked one eye open in the darkness, feeling my body still numb with sleep. A dark shadow hung over me, a glittering grin shining at me through the enclosing night. "Hey," I whispered to Patch.

One of his hands reached down, gentle fingers brushing my cheek. "Hey, Angel," he said softly. "Didn't know you were awake." His skin continued to keep contact with mine, his flesh warm and soothing.

I let my vision adjust to my dark surroundings. I could make out the faint outline of Patch as the shadow that lingered over me darkly. I could see his obsidian orbs staring down at me and his dark hair faintly covering those eyes that remained the portals to his soul. The warp to his memories were the scars that ripped down his back in that deep V-shape.

And as I was watching him, he was leaning down. Our lips pressed together for a long moment, mine wanting to battle his for dominance, but Patch wouldn't do anything. He just remained kissing me as if he could actually feel it. I reached up and tangled my fingers in his dark strands of ebony. I could faintly feel his touch on my skin as our kiss enveloped my mind in a blanket of passion.

All I ever wanted was Patch. He may have been dark and dangerous, a threat to say the least about him. But he was what I wanted. He was perfect. He was the rock that held me together. He was the other piece of my heart that had been missing all these years.

He was my guardian angel.

"Angel," he breathed, pressing on my chest so that a few inches separated our lips. Patch's fingers brushed my hair from my eyes and where it clung pitifully to my cheek. "Come on. Back to sleep." With that said and our passionate kiss done, he began ushering me into my bed once more.

I gave him my best pout and made my eyes as innocent as a child's. I fingered the neck of his shirt and closed those few inches between us again so my forehead pressed to his lightly. "Already?" I asked, trying to sound pathetic so I could at least steal another kiss.

His eyes narrowed playfully. "Yes, Angel." His voice was a whisper, tone gentle as ever, not demanding anything more than necessary. Patch's fingers pulled at the blankets that layered my bed, keeping me warm at night from the farmhouse's deeply set chill. His lips gave mine another single brush, this one faint and hardly there. But I knew he wanted me as much as I wanted him. "Now."

I reluctantly pulled myself from him, my hands leaving his chest and suddenly missing his warmth. I felt lost without him close to me. I gingerly crawled beneath my covers and let Patch tuck me right back into my bed with care.

"Goodnight," I whispered to him as he moved to the door, ready to leave in utter silence. "I love you." The words had no longer become a burden to us. They were as natural as the sun rising in the morning and setting in the evening.

A slight grin tugged at the corners of his lips, bringing a gentle smile to his usually dark features. "I love you too, Angel." The door began to silently close, his dark shadow quickly disappearing. "Goodnight."
