nightwing was running, chasing a mysterious assailent across the roof tops, he heard aqualad in his head "roin, i i mean nightwing, we have subdued the brain and monsiure malla ,have you caught the assailent?" he then jumped over a chimeny "working on it, wheres zatana and kid flash?" then all of a suden "rygyork ponasar" zatanna appeared in front of the assailent and he expertly did a double frontflip over her and placed sometyhing on her back, before she could react it started electrocuting her nightwing yelld "ZATANA!" she held up her hand "ill be fine, just go after him "nightwing then bolted off , and he hd soon chased his target to the edge of a cliff , "there's no where left to run" the assailant's l9ong black hair swirled around in the wind,as did his long tattered cloak-like cape , , and as he turn ed around nightwing was stopped cold , he wore a skull mask with a bright red x that the ends went past each eye hole, he had an armored vest with a slanted red x on it and two hightechgauntlets with x palms , he had an array of weaponry on his belt from a gun, to various types of grenades, he smiled beneath the mask "hello boy wonder" nightwing then said "no, it cant be , your , your gone i saw you die" (backstory, setting, 4 years after they had defeated vandals scheme to control everyone, robin goes solo for a while, and gets in over his head, he decides to go undercover, and poses as a new villain, a thief, red x is born, and after getting in way over his head working for deathstroke (aka slade) robin calls batman for backup and once they defeat him, robin locks up the red x uniform, but it is stolen, after many battles red x helps robin defeat deathstroke again, but this time there is aqn explosion, and robin is forced to save himself red x was lost in the blast) "how did you survive the explosion ? " red x then laughed and leaned to nightwings face "because , im a ghost" just then kid flash yelled with his mind "nightwing, NOW!" nightwing did a back flip as kid flash flew over him with a punch aimed right for x , who was able to archback, as the fist flew over hisface,as soon as he came back up he sidesteped to dodge nightwings staff "ooh, new toy?" he taunted, then he said "want to see mine"and drew a few dozen of his x stars, and threw them all , then he spun arond and shot a sticky x from his right palm at kid flash, whose legs became tangled and fell into the dirt. x pushed a button on his belt , nightwing spun his staff viciously deflecting the stars, then he held the staff to the side "those arent new, i made them" red x pointed "no but that is" nightwing turned around to see a hoverboard flying at him , he ducked down, narowly avoiding it as it zoomed right over his head , x then hopped on it and turned it around,"time for the ghost to dissapear" he said as it approached nightwing prepared himself to leap, 3 2 1 now, but when he leaped red x and the board phazed through him and dissapeared.
the rest of the team came over the ridge in time to see x make his exit aqualad approached nightwing and nightwing looked up "ive got some explaining to do" aqualad raised a hand "it can wate til we get back" zatana walked up rubbing her arm where she had been shocked" nightwing then said "are you okay?" she then said "im fine, but your explaining everything" he nodded "okay babe" and they kissed lightly before returning
