14AmyChan: Okay, so I've been reading an awesome comic on deviantart and I thought I might as well write a fanfiction for it. *^_^*
Raven: …
14AmyChan: Nothing to say? Well, let the epically short oneshot begin~! *^_^*
"Credenza!" a terrified shout rang through the night. Breathing heavily, Raven attempted to recover himself from his last dream's scare. His winged right hand covered his heart in an attempt to slow it to a normal pace. With another gulp of air, he wiped the sweat off his brow. He told himself over and over again. He would not choose him over her. She was too valuable.
Suddenly unsure of himself, Raven placed his feet against the cool floor, got dressed for a brief walk, and made his way out of his room. The movement assured him and helped him to think. The nightmare had been horrible. He had been approached again and told to give up. He wouldn't dare think of doing it. He wanted nothing more than to forget him and move on with this change. He wanted to keep her safe, and not put her in any danger.
A rustling to the side caught his attention. Glancing over, Raven saw that he had stopped in front of Credenza's room. Through an open door, he saw Credenza sleeping. Though her rest seemed just as effectual as his own. His first thought was to wake her from any nightmare she may be having, but a previous conversation stopped him short.
"Sometimes, Credenza has bad dreams. Things she won't talk about," Blitz heaved with a sigh. He sat in front of Credenza's room, guarding her from an unknown foe.
"So?" asked an insensitive spirit. "Why don't you just wake her up?" Waking a person from a nightmare seemed to be the most logical choice.
"I've tried, but she only wakes up crying and more scared than if she woke up on her own," Blitz responded, his eyes wide in uncertainty at what to do with that kind of situation.
Raven remembered that night, waiting until Blitz fell asleep as they guarded Credenza's room from the unknown night terrors. Now that he had them, he knew exactly why he shouldn't wake her. So he did the next best thing.
Quietly, so as not to wake the distraught sleeper, Raven eased the door shut and sat down in front of her room. She may not know if his terrors, but he knew of hers. And he would do anything to protect her from them.
He woke up the next morning with a blanket wrapped around him. That left a warm feeling that he still couldn't place.
14AmyChan: Okay, I hope you liked it, cause I'm going back to writing "Soldiers" now. *^_^*
