I was sent twirling into my body, the cold, the pain, the dark, and the blurry outline of a house. Everything was sideways and as my eyes focused I remembered the moments before I was here. A blaring of a semi-truck and the bright flash of headlights. My mother's screams as I looked up at the starry night sky and the full moon high above me. Reaching out and seeing my blood streaked arms and trying to grab something that would help me, but only grasping a feeling of helplessness, then only black.

I sat up and completely saw the house in the light of a lamppost against the night sky and a water tower with the name, "Springwood" on it in big bold lettering. The house was a light blue and the windows were boarded up making it look shunned from society. The door's white paint was peeling off and vines grew up the walls. The whole house had a dark tone to it and looked really eerie by the pale yellow light.

My head was throbbing and everything was still a little bit hazy. I stood up and made my way towards the house using a cement path that split its lawn of dead grass. Something seemed to draw me to it. I put my hand on the doorknob to open it, but as soon as I touched it, my hand snapped away in shock, it was icy cold! What kind of house was this?

I put my hand on the doorknob again, this time twisting it and pushing the door open as quickly as I could. It creaked really loudly as it swung open slowly. The only thing that lit the room inside was a lamp whose life wavered as its light flickered, threatening to go out and leave the room in complete darkness. The walls and carpet were stained and the wallpaper was shredded. There was no furniture, just the desolate room and a staircase in the corner leading up to darkness.

I gathered up all the courage I could and took a step inside. As soon as I did, I heard the door slam behind me. I turned around in shock and pulled on the doorknob, I didn't want to be stuck in this creepy house. As soon as I turned it, it broke off in my hand and I dropped it on the floor. I was trapped! I turned around and the light started flickering worse than before. Then orange and yellow sparks exploded from it and there was a loud POP, as it went completely out and left me in black.

I stood frozen in fear in this completely dark and seemingly evil house. My heart began to beat faster and a bad feeling grew in the pit of my stomach.

Click, click, click, click. What was that? Click, click, click, click. There it was again! It sounded like someone's nails taping on wood, but louder, more intense. I did the only thing I could, I ran. I jogged over to the other side of the room because there was nowhere to go! I stood with my back against the wall, it made me a little less uncomfortable having something solid behind me.

The lamp flashed for a split second revealing a man walking down the stairs. On his right hand and resting on the banister was a razor clawed glove. The man's sleeve was striped with red and green, but I couldn't see any more. Then I was in the dark again. The adrenaline in my blood pumped faster. Who was that, and what was he doing in this house with that knifed glove?

The lamp flashed a second time and the man was across the room from me. I could see the man's terribly distorted and burnt face underneath the brim of his brown and worn fedora. His whole sweater was red and green striped. He was smiling at me and staring with his cold, empty, blue eyes. They sent an unnerving shiver down my spine. The dark engulfed the room once more.

When the lamp lit the room this time it stayed on, but the man was gone.

"Welcome home, bitch!" A dark voice whispered so close to my ear that I could feel his warm breath on my neck. He was so malevolent
