Nickname
A blonde haired dynamo jumped into Derek arms, "Papa D did you see my goal?"
"Sure did Little Man, that was some nice footwork! Go get some water and a snack to cool down ok. Your Dad and I need to pick up the team equipment."
Aaron and Derek made quick work of cleaning up after the days last game and shook hands with the other teams coaches. As they were loading up equipment in the back of the SUV Aaron leaned back to stare at Derek as he put the last items in. The other man turned to Aaron and gave him a quick, deep kiss.
"What's going on? What deep thoughts are you thinking?"
"I want to know why our son is Little MAN and you call me what you call me."
Derek chuckled and gave the other man a deeper kiss, when he pulled back he said, "Call you what Hotness? I have lots of pet names for you."
The older man flushed and nudged Derek from him as he closed the back of the SUV.
"You know what I mean."
"Say it."
Still standing in the parking lot he turns to Derek, "Why is Jack's preferred nickname Little MAN and mine...Baby Boy."
Derek wraps his arm around the other man's shoulders, "Cause your my baby."
Hotch stops them from walking and turns to face Derek without dislodging the other mans arm around him. "I concede that but I haven't been a boy in a long, long time."
Derek sighs and looks at the man before him. He doesn't always get to see Aaron relaxed and happy even in their downtime there is stress and responsibility weighing him down. The team all knows that Reid did not have much of a childhood. And Derek's own father was killed as a child forcing him and his sisters to grow up a bit faster as well as the whole Buford issue but he still had good memories of being a child. When Aaron spoke of his childhood, which was rare, he couldn't decide who had it worse Hotch or Reid.
"I don't mean it derogatory or that I think you a boy and I'm a man. I just think you deserve it. I don't know if you ever had a truly affectionate nickname." At this point Hotch notices a blush on his lover's face. "It's my mushy nickname for you, Baby Boy."
At that the other man flushes also but brings Derek in closer for another kiss.
