Behind Those Bangs:

She let them grow out over her eyes. Blonde curls covered her emerald jewels. Her long, light eyelashes and her bouncy, wisps of hair let rays of the radiant light from her eyes shine through. Most people didn't notice the change in the length of her bangs but Jeffrey did.

He had her memorized. He knew any change that happened to her. Right now he pondered over her latest fashion. He stared off into her lushes pools longingly. Her bangs acted like a wall. Protecting her eyes from returning his longing gaze. But her eyes disobeyed her mind and her eyes peeked through the little cracks in the wall and met his eyes.

Skye Penderwick looked up and straight into Jeffery's eyes. Behind her bangs Jeffery could see two, pretty eyes deep in thought with a hint of sheer joy. When he looked into her eyes he could see all the traces of her intimidating self gone and instead replaced with the eyes he only saw and that showed Skye's true self.. The eyes that lit up when she laughed or whenever they got into some petty situation that lead to trouble. These eyes meant mischief, adventures, and fun. These were the eyes were all her emotions shown through and rarely were ever seen. She only let people who truly love and appreciate her see them (definitely not Pearson!). These eyes were like total solar eclipses and now one was happening.

Slowly they both leaned in until their noses touched. They were never sure who ended up closing the gap that day but they are glad they did. It was like all their time together flashed before their eyes. Firework shows flashed in their minds and it was pure affection. Love at its finest. Out of breath they pulled back. Skye sighed in contentment, "I was wondering when you realized I love you back!" Jeffery laughed and tucked her bangs behind her ears so he could look at the rare sighting of the astronomical event.

Behind those bangs was a different Skye. One that let her feelings for Jeffery Tifton Skye high.
