I felt tears falling on my face. I looked up to see wet and dripping red, spiked, locks of hair. They covered a pale and tearstained face with two purple triangles under glassy emerald eyes. My eyes widened in horror. "A-Axel…. What are you (coughs weakly) doing here?" As I said this, blazing emerald orbs stared at me. My ruined, broken, worthless, and bloody self. He leaned closer putting his forehead against mine. With his closeness, I realized he was holding me in his lap. He choked out a sob, startling me from my thoughts. Again, he came to see me lose. He always comes after I get hurt. He takes me back to the castle, patches me up, good as new. Then again, I can usually move when he finds me. And… Axel never cries when I get hurt. He readjusted his grip and lifted me up, bridal style. He started walking, deeper into the dark forest he found me in, eyes glistening silently. I did not dare pierce the near silence. The only sounds were his quiet sobs and crunching footsteps. I had been fading in and out of consciousness for about the last 2 hours. Axel had not stopped walking once as far as I could tell. Eventually the silence grew un-nerving. So, I asked very hesitantly, "Ax'? Where are we going? We didn't RTC. Are you ok?" Axel stopped dead at that. "Why?...Why, did you do it? Why did you go after Saix? Y-you…..YOU KNEW HE WOULD DO THIS TO YOU!" I looked up at him with a sad smile." He was your friend. You would have been sad without him. Sure, I got beat up a little, but he is going to stay now. See? Now you have no reason to cry or be sad now." He looked angrier now. I was scared. "I don't give a damn about Saix! My friend was Isa, and Isa died along with Lea a long time ago. You are my friend Demyx! GOT IT MEMORIZED?" I looked up shakily raising my hand up to his face. I cupped his cheek and, using my thumb, I wiped away his tears. I smiled and nodded."'K. I got it." He smiled. "Good. Now let's go patch you up my melodious nocturne." I sighed and leaned into Axel. "Ha, ha, ha! Tired?" I grunted happily in response. Then, I closed my eyes and nuzzled close to the flurry of dancing flames. All I heard, was Axel humming to some unknown tune. All I felt, was Axels strong arms around me and… Just maybe… my own non-existent heart…beating.
