Chapter 1: Collapse
My phone starts ringing out of nowhere. I look, and it's Toriel. Immediately I pick up.
"Hello?" I say.
"Frisk! Thank goodness! I need help, fast."
"What's wrong?" I ask, eyes wide. What happened? Why did Toriel need help? The way she said it made it seem like something was very wrong.
"Th-the Ruins! They've collapsed! We're tr-trapped in here!"
"Really?" I never thought that anything would collapse in the Underground. "I'll be over there as soon as I can with help!" I hang up. Lucky I was already in Snowdin. Hopefully, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne were home. Ever since her house, um, caught fire, Undyne stayed with Papyrus and Sans. We keep trying to put out the fire, but it has gotten too big to be put out. At least it hasn't spread.
I run up to Sans and Papyrus' house and pound on the door.
"woah kiddo, where's the fire?" Sans asks once he opens the door.
"No fire, but I just got a call. The Ruins have collapsed!"
"What did you say punk?!" Undyne shouts from somewhere inside. I couldn't see her from my view, but she sounded close.
"The Ruins have collapsed! We need to go and save the monsters that live there!"
"oh boy. i'll go get paps." At that, he teleports, probably to Papyrus' room, as afterward I faintly hear Papyrus yelling.
When I step in, I see that Undyne had already managed to get her armor on. Papyrus rushes down the stairs and Sans teleports to my side.
"alright, let's go. grab my arm," Sans says. Undyne was confused, but I knew what he was going to do. Papyrus seemed a little confused, but he probably had guessed. As soon as we all grabbed his arm, he teleports right to the area outside the Ruins door. I try opening the door, but it is still locked.
"Stand back," Undyne growls, and I immediately move back. She makes a spear materialize in her hand and drives it into the center of the door. The wood of the door shatters, almost like glass.
"That's one way to make an entrance," I comment.
"Did you have any better ideas?" Undyne asks. I shake my head.
We slowly made our way through the Ruins. Occasionally, one of the others would have to send a spear or bone flying toward debris that we couldn't get around. When we found monsters, we'd send them out towards Snowdin. We were finally on our way back after making sure that no monster was still stuck. We even managed to liberate the monster rock.
Walking back, we were in the passage in Toriel's basement, or at least what was the basement. Suddenly, the ground violently shakes. We all fall to the ground, and some small rocks and pebbles fall down from the ceiling.
I gasp with realization. "An earthquake," I whisper. "And an aftershock."
"HEY GUYS, WHAT'S THAT?" Papyrus asks, pointing to a broken jar with a fluorescent substance dripping out. The jar happened to be right next to me. I look at my hands and see some of the substance. I wipe it off on the ground.
"I don't know," I say, "but it can't be good."
"Come on, let's go. We have enough to worry about now. We now have to figure out where about thirty monsters can stay and make sure the rest of the Underground don't just collapse," Undyne says, getting up and starting to walk back. We follow her, but I know that that jar and its substance wasn't normal. That something was wrong about it.
"Come on Papyrus," Undyne says when we're back in Snowdin. "Let's go round up the former Royal Guard members." Recently, the Royal Guard had disbanded, but for an accident like this, any of the former Royal Guard members and Papyrus would take care of it.
I hoped that this was the worst that would happen, but I couldn't be any more wrong.
So here is my story in which I give the characters of Undertale a horrible time! If anyone has ideas of thing I can have happen, whether it is to certain characters or everybody, feel free to request it! I would prefer to stay away from any more humans falling down for now, but that could change with what happens. There will be other humans eventually though(wink wink). This is a story, not a bunch of one-shots, so they will go together.
Have a lovely day!
