Lose Control

"If I cut you down to a thing I can use,

I fear there'll be nothing good left of you..."

--Evanescence (Lose Control)

Selene hesitated, fingers wrapped around delicate wrists. Irridescent blue eyes flickered in the moonlight, caught Selene's gaze and held it until the Death Dealer was forced to look away. Selene could feel it burning through her veins, desire in its purest and simplest form. It made her head swim and her heart pound. Her hands trembled as she moved them from Erika's wrists to her stomach, pressing her palms flat against the cool, pale flesh. Slight muscles trembled beneath her hands, a soft intake of breath was the only thing that could be heard in the darkness. Selene moved forward then until her lips connected with the smooth skin of Erika's neck. Small hands gripped Selene's bare back, holding her firmly in place, urging her on. Selene faltered again, pulled back quickly and stared down at her young counterpart, something akin to fear in her eyes.

"What's wrong?" Erika asked.

"I can't do this to you," Selene whispered into the darkness.

"It's okay. I want you to."

"I can't. I can't use you this way."

"I want it."

"You couldn't possibly want this."

"I do. I want this. I want you, Selene. Please?"

Erika placed a hand behind Selene's neck and guided her forward, until her lips were on Erika's neck once more. Selene gripped Erika's hands over her head and allowed her fangs to distend slightly, scraping Erika milky skin lightly.

"Do it... please," Erika whispered, squirming beneath Selene.

Unable to hold back her hunger any longer, Selene let go of herself and bit down hard. Erika gasped and shuddered, fingernails clawing at Selene's back as liquid crimson life flowed out over her chilled alabaster skin. Selene cradled the blonde in her arms as she fed, taking in the bits and pieces of Erika's life that the ritual allowed her to see. Parts of a life spent seeking the praise and acceptance of others, parts of a life that was ended violently and all too soon.

Moments later, Erika slumped in Selene's arms, bleeding and broken and utterly satisfied. Selene collapsed onto the bed beside the blonde, wiping at the blood that was dripping from her mouth and gasping for unnecessary breaths. Erika pulled her closer, pillowed Selene's head on her shoulder and stroked her back as the Death Dealer struggled to regain composure.

In her haze, Selene managed to mumble something that sounded like 'thank you' to Erika before she fell asleep. And Erika whispered back a sweet 'I love you' as she pulled the blankets up around them.
