"Blah"-Talking
Blah-Thoughts
"What's your allegiance kid, us or them?" Asked Wolverine, being unusually kind for the feral man. Course, he figured, the Rogue had gone through a lot, being betrayed and lied to by Mystique. Lousy stupid shapeshifter, she was just under Sabertooth in his List to Kill. Not many knew about the list, but most of the world was on it.
"You gonna toss meh out if'n I don't say ya'll?" Replied Rogue, slightly hesitant. This was NOT a good day, in her opinion. Too many big shocks in one day were wearing on her already frazzled nerves.
"Nah, you'd make a big stain on the mountain. Can't have that, eh bub?"
"Ah'm sorry, but Ah can't leave my boys." Rogue said, almost apologetically.
Not like they can understand, anyways. Thought Rogue grimly as she prepared to defend herself. They were still the enemy, no matter how nice they might seem at the moment. She couldn't remember everything that the X-Men had done for them, or she might actually let them help her, and the boys. It was too late, though. No one could help them now, not after what…
Rogue shook herself briefly, to forget what she didn't want to remember. Logan, no, Wolverine, she thought, a bit frustrated, interpreted the motion as coldness.
"Kid, you want a blanket or somethin'?" He asked, a bit worried.
"No, Ah'm fahne, thanks." Answered Rogue, calming down now that she could she that he wouldn't hurt her. At least not till their next fight anyway.
The black X-Jet bumped gently as it touched the ground. The heavy automatic doors opened with a swoosh, and Rogue bounded out of the machine running hard, fully intent on reaching the Brotherhood house as soon as possible. She had things to tell them.
"Guess that's the last we'll see of her, eh Chuck?" Asked the Wolverine as he watched the streaked girl tear out of the jet and run away towards the forest behind Xavier's School for Gifted Children. "At least on our side, anyway."
"I wouldn't be too sure about that, Logan. I can't get into her mind, it's too complex with the other personalities, but she didn't really seem like she wanted to leave us." Responded Charles Xavier.
"If you say so…" Wolverine responded dubiously. He had smelled a lot of fear on the girl, longing and hope, too, but she was too attached to the Brotherhood, he realized, to leave them and come to the X-Men.
AN: That's what he thinks! Anyway, that's it for the first very very short chappie, just trying out this idea. Haven't seen a lot of these fics around, so I thought, hey, why not? Anyway, if you read, please review! I would like feedback. Thus concludes the first chapter of Shadow Allegiance, a story by IcyDrache.
